"This place is quite a gem. We saw the market while having gelato across the alley. We went back prior to leaving to get items for dinner. The expert behind the counter was fantastic. He guided us through a salami selection and made us taste different cheeses with assorted pairings. He then informed us of the different olives, tomatoes and breads. We walked away with salami, pesto, focaccia, mozzarella, olives, olive oil soaked tomatoes all for about 40 euros... we could not have been happier that we stopped in and were treated to his expertise! What a great local treat this was, a fantastic end to our day in Lucca!"

The food is fabulous but the staff are amazing. We returned after 3 months and staff remembered our names and or favourite dishes. Raffa is a super star ????

La colazione a LaGrotta è immancabile. Punti di forza? A parte le buonissime brioches, in un mondo in cui l'educazione ormai è cosa rara, gentilezza, disponibilità e solarità fanno di questo posto il mio preferito. Il sorriso spontaneo e vero che concedete al cliente è sicuramente un ottimo biglietto da visita. Verrò a trovarvi sicuramente anche a pranzo.
