"I visited with my family and was excited to try out this little cafe hidden away with its cute decor. We were quickly greeted by the waitress and menus were given to us. I went for a cappuccino alongside the Steak and Ale Pie which was perfect however I felt the rest of my plate to be bland and disappointing and completely pointless. My veg tasted tinned and microwaved and mash like nothing at all, I found myself covering my plate in pepper just to give it some flavour. Full, I refused dessert but did ask for a can of coke which was given to me opened and a quarter of it poured in glass which annoyed me when I just wanted the can to open in my own time. Now under pressure to finish my coffee so I could drink my coke I found myself wishing I never ordered the coke. We went to pay and leave and found it to be dramatically overpriced for a simple little cafe. I’ve had a Chinese for four people cheaper than this visit."

A lovely little lunch served quickly and efficiently. Tasty soup and baguette and at a reasonable price. Bit cramped inside and no busy at the time but recommended.

Ordered two Bacon, lettuce and Tomatoe sandwiches and two mugs of coffee cost a whopping £13.70. Served pretty quickly because bacon was only shown to the grill. The sandwich looked terrible and tasted the same raw bacon is not the best. Over priced and over hyped not worth a third of the price. View menu

A small café/bistro discovered on our day visit to Tamworth. Were there at lunchtime for a light snack. Made to order baguette for one of us, a slice of carrot cake and mug of coffee for another and toasted tea cake pot of tea for me. All prepared in the visible kitchen area. A good selection of cooked meals was also available. Very clean place and helpful pleasant staff. We enjoyed our visit.

A big shout out to the ladies that run Poachers Cafe Bistro in Tamworth. Covid safe, great menu choices, lovely food and good service. I've visited several times in the last few weeks, sometimes just for a coffee and sometimes for lunch. I've recently had tuna mayo baked potato, which was accompanied by just the right amount of salad and wild mushroom and pea risotto which was absolutely delicious. See you again soon. Take care. Called in many times for various ways to have breakfast and never been disappointed fresh hot and tasty so when my brother and his wife visited we had lunch after shopping and were so pleased we did could have took them to a restaurant but honestly this was much better and cheaper considering some of the food we have been served up I had the braised steak and chips with extra gravy you won’t need a knife it falls apart on the fork all the others were also pleased with there meals and deserts apple pie is great all for just over £45 for 4 with a drink first time we have had lunch here and believe me it won’t be the last the place is spotless and they are always cleaning no piles of plates on...

At first I was quite impressed by the Poachers ' cosy atmosphere also their apparent wish to please. Then the scales came off my eyes. The Waitress crossed the line, everso soon, from helpful to cloying later mendacious. She seemed to wish to fulfill our orders for fresh vegetables instead of Salad. Big mistake. There was a tiny mound of overcooked cabbage next to a teaspoonful of equally overcooked carrot. My friend 's mash was equally uninspiring. Worse : one quarter chicken turned out to be one sixth not a brilliantly grown one sixth as that... defrosted FAR TOO QUICKLY. Puddings were adequate though each priced, like the wine, several pounds above their value. Staff Meeting needed here t...
