"count extraordinary eating and excellent service. the staff was really friendly, but not ott, inconspicuous, but always there. beautiful hauch, who leaves the appetiser and does not rush to clear him away before the starters came (it was as delicious as anything else we had). the service was really top-class and the food I had boiled and ray wings was from this world. we have loved the whole experience in pompette absolutely and wish the restaurant every success and will soon be back! I usually don't write reviews, but thank you for making the day of my mother so special that she really loved him. it also made vatertag and daughter day!"

We had a very nice meal. The mussels were very tasty and the steak was good. Very nice service with a reasonably priced wine list. I had the cheapest dry rosé on the list and it was very pleasant. Even the mother and daughter on...the next table were nice. View menu

Really can't fault the service here, efficient booking system with a reminder sent on the day. Evident displays of santizer, interesting lunch menu with a good choice and a very warm welcome after the deep, sleepy winter and long years of covid. Bathroom was...spotless. Will definitely make this a regular list

We had a fantastic lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The staff was excellent, the decor was beautiful, and the food was outstanding. The menu was short, but there was something for everyone. The fish soup was delicious, but the cod was exceptional. The fish was cooked perfectly. My partner enjoyed the confit duck just as much. As locals to Oxford, we wondered why we hadn't visited this restaurant sooner.

beautiful place, solid star quality eat, but the prices were not exactly in the line, I can eat in a Michelin star restaurant for very similar money. the main error is however the personal that was friendly enough, but constantly trying to annoy, constantly falling...from the cocktail menu on the table, also done after the net. I understand that the business is and many places do it, but it is not really relaxing. View menu

as before we really enjoyed our experience. the service is attentive, but not overlaid. the menu changes regularly, but eating was once again excellent. another factor that emphasizes it is that if we ask from him waiter/summer on suggestions, he actually. he asks us what kind of we liked before we offer advice. after many years eating in some beautiful restaurants, this is the first time that we were asked this important question. sommeliers should take everyone to know!

The atmosphere at this restaurant is relaxed, with no music to interrupt conversations, creating a pleasant environment. Our group of six retirees from the UK had a great time and the lunch set menu was perfect for all of us, even though we didn't drink alcohol. The service was top-notch and we have one suggestion - it would be helpful to clearly advertise that there is on-site parking for customers who are driving. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return if we are in the area again.

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
