"Really gutted after our visit today. Haven't been in years but loved going as a child. Took my partner and really hyped up the cornbeef pie, was always a favourite with chips, peas, and gravy. We arrived and found a seat. A table turned about about 5 minutes after us. For the waitress to walk past up several times and take no notice of us. We might as well of not been sat there. She then took the other tables order still ignoring us. After taken there order she brought the drinks back and still ignored us and went to a table who were already eating to ask if they would like more drinks, by this point my partner was ready to leave, I then went and looked for a waitress to be told wil be woth you shortly. 10 mins later a waitress finally serves us. We waited longer for our drinks to come than it took for the food, when the food came the cornbeef pie was as good as I remembered(thankfully) chips weren't cooked and just tasted really bland. The cutlery was dirty we asked for serviettes which never came, didn't see a waitress for the remainder of our time there, so ate our food sharing cutlery. Really gutted as was overall a really poor experience and will not be going again."

They serve the most delicious and largest eclairs I have ever tasted. However, it is disappointing that I cannot dine in at the restaurant because it smells like urine.

The fries were extremely crispy and lacked sufficient chicken and curry filling in the chicken curry pie. It was very disappointing considering the restaurant's great reputation.

This place is the gem of the Valleys. The food is wonderful, the portion sizes are large and the service is quick and friendly. Above all else, they have retained that wonderful art -deco interior which helps create lovely ambience.

First visit and really impressed. Ambience feels like you're stepping back to an era of good food, fantastic service and real value for money. Had coke floats, delicious trifle, cannoli and fresh cream scone. Felt looked after and can't wait to come again next time, afternoon tea!

Visited for afternoon tea with family and friends for a baby shower, the food was amazing, so fresh and plenty of it, by far the best afternoon tea we’ve had. There were 39 of us and the service was fabulous, William and the lovely waitresses were very accommodating and could not do enough for us, a big thank you to you all for a lovely afternoon. Would highly recommend, we couldn’t fault it.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that this formerly charming cafe has deteriorated. I ordered a cappuccino that tasted like hot water with sprinkles on top and a disgustingly salty cheese toasty that I couldn't even eat. Additionally, the location of the toilets at the bottom of the restaurant, with people constantly coming and going and leaving the door open while others are trying to enjoy their meal, was not a pleasant experience.

My wife and I travelled from Llanelli to Pontypridd yesterday 24/11/23 and we found this gem. As you enter the atmosphere was superb, the selection of cakes, pastries and savoury was outstanding. The staff were very helpful. We stayed for lunch and were seen to by the waitress Barbara. She was courteous, friendly, efficient and professional. Thank you Barbara. When we visit again we will definitely call with you. Highly recommended.

like stepping back to 1966.. the atmosphere and ambience are the *teamrooms of the past*, like you would see on downton abbey or upstairs downstairs,,, there is a upstairs section, the staff are very friendly, a tea for two and various deals are great..., also the prices are very reasonable... the princes is very famous for bakery, i can see why its so popular with queues forming, probably the best welsh cakes in the town,, the rhondda valley, tourists, vistors and daytrippers come to the restaurant just to see , the decor, furnishings,,,,thats why its normally very busy...

"My wife and I booked a table at the Cinnamon Tree on Tuesday for the Sunday early evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I checked their web site first before booking as the actual date was on the Monday. Finding out that they did not...open on Mondays we opted for the Sunday. I telephoned the restaurant and made the booking. the person on the other end of the telephone repeated my details and time date ect. We turned up at the restaurant to fined it was closed with a sign on the door stating that they did not open on Sundays and Mondays. We got back in the car and went to turn around at the back of the restaurant and I saw a door at the back of the restaurant open. I stopped the car and went to the door and found someone in the kitchen. I told them that I had booked a table for that night and he confirmed what we had found out with the notes on the door. He then telephoned the owners of the restaurant and he put me on the telephone and I spoke to the owners partner and she said they have not been open for several weeks owing to staff shortages. I asked the lady why the booking had been taken as the staff must be aware of when the restaurant is closed or open and I had gone by their web site. She replied we haven't bothered to up date our web site and will not be doing so and have not bothered to blank out Sundays on the book were the reservations are written in and just blamed the person that took the booking in the first place. Her attitude was I couldn't care less. At this point I was boiling as I have used the Cinnamon Tree for many years and have always had a good meal there. But after this episode they can go to hell I will never go there again."
