"We were looking for a proper french croissant and cappuccino, and while walking down La Roquette we were invited to walk in the Bar Restaurant. The owner, who was behind the bar serving customers was very friendly, and made us feel like home since the very first moment. Our breakfast was amazing. We are quite demanding with our first meal, and this one exceeded our expectations. Coffee was amazing, and croissants were crunchy and freshly baked. Absolutely delicious. One curiosity, while having our meal, we saw the cook coming out of what it looked like a freezer, but we were explained that was the way in to the kitchen, cool!!!.We express our interest on having dinner there, but due to the lack of time we couldn't come back. A real shame considering the pics we were shown the food look amazing, next time we are in Paris we will definitely go back to this amazing place."

Divine food and wine at a small wine bar I stumbled upon. I can't afford the top restaurants that cost hundreds of dollars per person, but this is everything I'd hoped for in traditional French cuisine at a reasonable price!

Visited whilst in Paris on the recommendation of my sons. A small but stylish establishment, right next to a metro stop and in the 11th. The food was delicious classic French with a hint of Mediterranean flavours. Would return.

How lucky we were to stumble on this little place. We are staying around the corner and needed dinner around 9pm on a Tuesday night. No tables out front but could accommodate us inside. The menu is small with a lovely selection, try the Risotto! We isn't get to sample the desserts as we were so satisfied with our mains but we hope to head back. The service was lovely and prompt and the drinks were great. It seems it was mainly locals but they accommodated two Australians with a terrible command of the French language!

Found Quartier Libre by accident just looking for somewhere to have dinner whilst in Paris. It looks like just a regular local bistro and the welcome is very friendly and down to earth. But, it’s not just a regular local bistro: its website says that it has a short menu, so that they can concentrate on the quality of the ingredients and cooking and that absolutely shows. The food was fabulous, both in terms of the cooking and flavours and also the presentation “fine dining” food and wine (but not pretentious restaurant prices) in a down to earth and friendly environment, where they’re obviously just enjoying doing what they do… An absolute joy and I wish this little place well!
