"We were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this restaurant during our overnight visit to Wakefield. Housed in a former bank, the interior is charming with Spanish and Cuban décor, great lighting, and music, and high ceilings. The seating options range from bar stools to comfortable booths and large tables. They even have a private dining room located in the former bank vault with a thick impressive door. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the menu is diverse with a good selection of cocktails. There is also a rooftop bar for warmer evenings, which seemed like a great place to relax. While the tapas we ordered were delicious, especially the mushrooms, my chicken jambalaya was a bit bland and could have used more spice. Despite this, if you find yourself in Wakefield (home of the Hepworth Gallery and close to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park), this restaurant is a must-visit spot for dining out."

I have ended up dining here a few times before which has always been good. This time I was going to try somewhere else but they only opened a bit later so Qubana it was again. I was starving and was going to order half the Tapas menu but the waitress very kindly suggested that the first three selections was ample. All three was delicious and certainly enough as suggested.

This restaurant is a great place to eat, especially during lunchtime when you can enjoy a delicious sandwich, homemade chips, and a drink for £6.50. I tried the roast ham, slow-cooked pork, and cheese sandwich with dill pickle and mustard, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. The restaurant can get quite busy, so be prepared to wait, but the food is definitely worth it! View menu

My dad and I had lunch here yesterday and we were both very impressed with the quality of the food and service. We shared tapas as a starter then had one of their lovely and tasty sandwiches. . I had the steak melt and dad had barbecued chicken. Prices were very reasonable, the atmosphere was great, staff were excellent and we both said that we wouldn't hesitate to dine there again. VERY ENJOYABLE LUNCH TO CELEBRATE DAD'S BIRTHDAY.

On Monday 25th February I reserved a table at Qubana having checked it it was open on their website. They use an automated booking system called Open Table. I received a confirmation from them. On arrial at the restaurant, the lights were on inside but there was a notice on the door telling us that they were closed. A birthday present ruined. To add insult to injury I received another e-mail from Open Table asking me how my dinner was! A system like Open Table is only as good as the information supplied to it by the restaurant itself.

Came here today for lunch and the place was packed, and we were warned that we might have to wait 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken. That was fine and we were seated and ordered drinks. Me and the other half both chose the lunchtime special of a sandwich, chips and a drink. We both upgraded our sandwiches and chips so it worked out at £6.50 each, which we both thought was an absolute bargain because of the quality of the meal! I went for the Philly steak and chunky chips, my steak was cooked exactly to my liking and tasted fabulous! My other half had slow cooked pork and ham with a really nice sauce on, and he was reluctant to share any with me! ; will be going again on payday :D View menu

We have been here a number of times, both lunch time and evening, and we've always been really happy with the service and food. But last time we went the usual guy who greets you and seems to be some sort of manager, wasn't there and the service was much slower. I ordered a steak and was unable to eat about 3/4 of it as it was all gristle. I was asked if i wanted it replacing but by that time I'd really gone off the idea. In fairness they did then ask if I wanted a dessert on the house which I didn't want either so we were given two free coffees. All in all we have had such nice meals there that I won't let this one time put me off and we will be going back as I love the atmosphere, decor an...

Visited again this Lunch time and found the Service to be vastly improved. There was a Friendly Guy at the door who did the meet and greet thing and a Waiter on hand who was watching the floor much of the time. The place was noticably more full today and the atmosphere was far better than my last visit. With all this in mind, I was left feeling far more positive about my Lunch and was glad to have returned. However, my Lunch came in two halves which was not good. My lovely large wedge like potato arrived nearly 10 mins after my wrap. The wrap was not a patch on last time and was not closed as I expect a wrap to be, as last time. The filling was falling out and it was haphazardly cobbled toge...

"Exploring the outskirts of Leeds led me to discover the gem that is Corarima, a gluten free, vegan haven in Wakefield. As someone currently navigating a gluten free journey, stumbling upon this Abyssinian vegan/gluten free restaurant was a true delight. Opting for the combination platter for two was a journey through a sensory layer cake a symphony of tastes and smells expertly presented. We embraced the experience, relishing the deliciousness with our hands, a practice met with the owner's delighted approval. The host, a charming and attentive soul, took us on a culinary tour, passionately detailing each dish. He was so warm, Friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The decor added to the warmth, creating a homely ambiance that made this dining experience extraordinary. In the realm of UK dining, Corarima has secured its spot among our favorites. It's more than a restaurant; it's a rare and complete experience, a testament to the charm and authenticity of Abyssinian cuisine. I wish we lived closer as we’d visit regularly for sure! Dietary restrictions: I’ve recently had to go gluten free whilst also being vegan so it was wonderful to relax knowing that the menu was accommodating of my dietary requirements Kid friendliness: Whilst we were dining a family arrived with a young baby and the host was so charming and attentive with the baby. Engaging with the baby as if it was any other diner (even offering to take his order)!"
