Redfields Garden Centre

We have been here on many occasions and standards are definitely slipping. I think we all understand the pressures on staffing but surely that means you adjust numbers of people you serve to suit your capacity. Today we had to wait an hour for a...very simple order but noticed time and again people who ordered after us being served before us. We questioned this but were still left waiting. So why not limit numbers you let in so you can cope and use a more robust system that ensures people you let in are served properly, a pen written sheet is not working.

Sadly, this a overpriced garden centre restaurant. The restaurant is nicely situated, once you eventually find your way round the one way maze. Clean and pleasantly decorated with mixed seating. However the food was very disappointing. I had stir fried chicken noodles which was oily...and bland in taste. The chicken was chargrilled could only taste smoked food. My wife had chickpea burger with sweet potato chips. Whilst it tasted better than mind, sadly it was cold. With coffee for and a cake to share, we didn't have much change from All presentation not content! Disappointing.

I am a regular at Redfields as I live locally and have never had anything but a positive experience there. Most recently, we went in on a Sunday and were served very quickly, with our food arriving in under minutes. Myself and my friend...each had a main course (I had the salmon with lime coating and broccoli, sweet potato and feta salad, with some regular potato salad) and a cream tea with scone, clotted cream and jam. It was all delightful very tasty and large portions for The environment at Redfields is lovely for a lazy afternoon and for a bit of casual browsing for bits. Highly recommended.

Love this restaurant x had super lunches and afternoon tea over the past months but today had the vegetarian Sunday lunch. For the first time was disappointed..... the aubergine was a thin slice with tiny bits of veg and ? toasted x not enjoyable A...nut roast or veg pie would have been better . The vegetables served were lovely but no Yorkshire pudding ??? Was so looking forward to a Yorkshire!!!! Would I order this dish again....? No would not imagination needed for us vegetarians . My family had three meats which size wise looked more appealing and it had Yorkshires !!!! Please take note as visiting again soon x

We were given vouchers for the above for our Golden Wedding anniversary. Booked a table for today. Met at restaurant entrance by very nice member of staff and shown to our very nice reserved table. Fabulous glass of champagne and wonderful selection of sandwiches ,...cakes and scones with jam and cream. Very attentive waitress who bought us over another slice of cake on a plate with congratulates written on it when she found out what we were celebrating. As much tea and coffee as we wanted. The restaurant was fairly busy but the service we received was first class. Definitely going to bring my friends for their birthdays etc

first visit. everything looks great, but when my full English arrived in minutes, alarm bells sounded. my breakfast was cold except haash brews. grund : everything is cooked in ban maries pots and stacked high without using lids. The...min legal requirement for supply with safe hot means of life is degree..This is far down. I returned my cold breakfast and surprisingly took my replacement minutes to arrive and it was perfect. piping hot, each product boiled to perfection. it could have been on the front side of a cooking magazine. they can therefore express their own understanding, but I would be aware of the uncertain food safety standards that are adopted here. the service was excellent, s...

We visited Redfields to have lunch. We arrived at and we’re seated promptly, however by waiting, no one had taken our food or drinks order. My husband approached a member of staff to ask if someone can some and take our food...order. The member of staff he asked said she was too busy but would send someone else straight over. After more minutes no one came, so I approached a member of staff and asked to see the manager. She walked me to a member of staff who said sorry we are busy and there is nothing else I can do. Hasten to add, as we had now waited and still no one took our food order we decided to leave. This was a really disappointing visit and the staff were less than helpful and didn’...

Booked and pre paid for afternoon tea for my mums retirement, phoned and confirmed booking day before. On arrival we saw the host who clearly has not received any training in the role. She was looking for a suitable table to sit us so already...we were now already waiting a couple of minutes, now it is clear no table has been set up so she seats us at another table. Five minutes after, ģshe returns with menus and says hopefully someone will be over in a minute to take an order. No one returned, we sat there for minutes with nothing and I had pre booked and paid. We really like this garden centre and were looking forward to lunch in the main restaurant after a long gap as we no longer live near. There is an extensive range of meal options from multiple counters; that's good. There was a notice saying that...the (table) service might not be up to standard with the nationwide problem of staffing, that's understandable; in fact we found the service to be acceptable; the restaurant at pm on a Saturday was around two thirds full. The problem was with the food. Unusually the mushroom soup was the consistency of a minestrone very thin and definitely not a cream of mushroom although the flavour was OK; but not hot.
