Rendezvous - Menu

While traveling to Moria, we decided to grab some take-out Indian food. The portions were large and delicious, and the owner was a very pleasant person.

Pathetic from the moment we walked in read all menus to be greated by a helpful lady behind the serve over assured us of menu and fish was fresh and made daily it probably was but not this day

Place is filthy had to ask for clean cutlery and glasses. High chair had to be cleaned before using. Waitress recommends everything!!! Ordered carvery and it was terrible meat was served in a bowl and plastered in gravy looked like leftovers from someone else's plate. Definitely not freshly cooked like we were told. View menu

The staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive. While the menu offered a wide selection, it was a bit complicated and could benefit from simplification. In terms of value, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of cafe-style food served. The restaurant is family-friendly, with a diverse range of drinks that kids particularly enjoyed.

On arrival we were met by very friendly and helpful staff. The good part ended there. We both ordered soup and sandwiche combo. The cream of mushroom soup looked like a cross between gruel and baby food. Even the sight of it was off putting enough. The taste was just as bad. We both left it practically untouched. Our dessert of apple pie and fresh cream was apple pie with custard. Which resembled yellow wallpaper paste. Thick and lumpy. Again left untouched. An experience not to be repeated.

We stopped by for a quick snack and experienced very slow service. The paninis and toasties were overcooked and lacked flavor. The bacon was undercooked and the tea was cold. To top it off, they had run out of coleslaw. It was 2pm on a Friday and the restaurant was not busy, which may explain why. The four of us would have been better off at the Subway next door. So we planned a night out, girls together, to celebrate new jobs. Decided on Rendezvous as it was BYOB and we wanted to keep costs down. Restaurant was clean and tidy. The menu extensive so our waiter advised that he would offer a menu deal. (He had already provided poppadoms and dips to snack on while we read and chatted). We got starters and mains and the food was amazing, all of it. My dishes were prawn based and the nicest I've ever had. We were well looked after and the bill was easily paid. Thank you team Rendezvous, very well done. We will be back and may even do takeaway in the meantime.

My partner and I ordered from here one night for collection, tbh we weren't expecting much because it is a roadside café, but we were very pleasantly surprised , I had the omelette with garlic potatoes and my partner had the burger and chips, honestly it was really lovely. Then a few days later we sat in at the restaurant and brought my mum, my mum ordered the lasagne which was watery and bland and I had the omelette again which was watery and bland. My partner had the steak which he said was lovely. so this restaurant is hit or miss, I think it just depends what chef is on, but the staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly.

Have driven past this place numerous times and always said I would like to try it sometime and today I did. At least I now know to just keep on driving past in future. We walked in and it looks like the place hasn't been done up since the 1970's, another missed clue should have been the clientele all looked like they have been there from the 70's as well. We went in for a Sunday Carvery meal but all the food in the hot food counter looked as if it had been sitting there all day and was all dried out.
