"Myself, a pensioner, and my daughter went for lunch today. The 2 of us ordered Scampi. Came out rock solid and over cooked. We Politely asked for one of them to be replaced. Waitress was polite and took it back to the chef. The chef bought out a new portion which looked completely different to the first. He began making nasty comments about us ‘moaning’; leant across the table and got very close our faces in an intimidating manor. When we went to pay, after feeling very uncomfortable and mentioned it to the lady at the till. She then became incredibly rude, raising her voice at us both when we had been very polite. Then the chef came back and started raising his voice at us too. The lady then told me to leave and that I was banned from the cafe. I have been going there for many years and am very upset but this experience."

Food is hearty and tasty, and service is very friendly and warm. The cafe is spotlessly clean. Having to pay cash could be a problem for some people. View menu

dont be put off by the title. After ww2 greasy spoons abounded in London. Then along came the settled italian POWs and put a whole new and delicious meaning to british cafe grub. They still do to this day, so be prepared to be surprised at the quality and price. Solid lunch for £5 Its a little oasis of calm and civility View menu

Turkish owned greasy spoon which does what it says on the tin. Typical fare: egg, bacon, beans, fries, mushrooms, sausage, black pudding, two slice bread, tea, change from £10.00. Every mouthful tasty. Sometimes a decent cheese qtr pounder with salad and fries for a fiver.. Not artisinal in any way, shape or form but it most definitely fills the gap if 3 or 4 want to get a decent, standard brunch.

There isn't really many places to get breakfast or lunch in Strood but out of the few places that there are this is defintely the best : ! It serves well cooked, reliable cafe food such as cooked breakfasts (not greasy and the eggs are always runny , jacket potatoes (which I still haven't tried , salads and hot meals. The people working there/the owners are very friendly and they always remember us despite us not going there too often. I highly recommend this lovely little cafe if you're looking for a nice place to eat.

"Found out that under new ownership since October 2023, so recommendations to me were based on friends experience with previous owners. The manager was friendly and very attentive, asking lots of questions, explaining their menu when asked, telling me that the interior will be changed in the near future. Anyway, for starters we chose Calamari, Garlic Mushrooms with Cheese, King Prawns, and Halluomi. We then all helped ourselves to bits and pieces of each. The starters were plentiful in portion size, with all choices being great, especially the garlic mushrooms with cheese. For mains we chose a mixed grill, chicken shish, lamb ribs, and chicken wings and chips for my daughter. The chicken and lamb shish were both tender and full of flavour, and the lamb ribs were great. They all came with slad and bulgur (I can only describe it as a cross between rice and cous-cous).The mixed grill was plentiful in size and looked appetising, but my father in law enjoyed that all to himself , so I can only assume it was good. My daughter enjoyed her chicken wings too We were given bread on the table, which was warm and full of flavour too. We were definitely made to feel welcome, and will definitely return. Good to know that they deliver too. We were at the restaurant early (5pm booking), so were the only people in the restaurant, however, there was a constant stream of delivery drivers collecting orders for delivery. It was my daughters birthday the following day, so tye manager gave her a small dessert on the house as well. Parking: A few parking spaces on the street just a couple of doors down from the restaurant , where you use the RingGo App or good old cash to pay for parking."
