"We have been coming here for many years now on our annual visit to this part of Germany. Not a fancy restaurant, and the service depends on how crowded they are. The food is okay, with the pizzas and salads above average and the pastas...with room for improvement. Sitting out on the terrace is very pleasant with the incredible view of the stately buildings opposite. On a quiet evening, it can be very very pleasant, and once (many years ago) we were treated to a digestif on the house by the hardworking head waiter who is very possibly the owner. We will continue to come and eat at Lahnterasse on our annual visit to this region."

It was a lovely Italian and German restaurant overlooking the river and the promenade. The food and beer was very good.

The restaurant serves the best Italian food in bad ems. The location of the hotel is fantastic as it's just by the side of the river and overlooking the lovely bad ems. Must try the ravioli and the tomato soup here

Best food, best staff, best atmosphere, best restaurant in Bad Ems The absolute best in town. Staff are always so friendly, the cooks always make their best to suit your wishes. And I always leave with a big smile and a big belly

Called in Bad Ems on our trip to Florence. This place serves authentic Italian food and the quality and service are excellent. We were looked after by a new waitress who was very helpful and friendly. If you are in the area don’t think twice...about this little gem

We went for dinner on a Sunday night all the tourists were gone. The situation is nice with the river Lahn in front but the food is no big deal and the wine was terrible. maybe the worst was that when people saw us entering...the restaurant it was like : oh no not another one to serve!! Not a smile nothing, in fact quite cold !!

Externally, this is an attractive looking restaurant and ideally located on the banks of the river. My pizza was freshly prepared but only average in content and flavour. The waitress was good, cheerful and with a sense of humour. I felt as if the place...was a bit gimmicky, trying to hard to be Italian when the real thing is a little less 'obvious'.

We had tried to book ourselves into other restaurants on a Saturday night in late November and after tries elsewhere this restaurant was able to accomodate us with minutes' notice. Whilst we were grateful at the time it does say it all really....The interior was an old style German pub but without any atmosphere. The staff were pleasant without being friendly. The menu is way too large to enable fresh cooking of the dishes so we opted for the relative safety of pizzas . Which were ok. A simply forgettable experience to be honest because nothing stood out as being particularly good, just average dining.

"Excellent Food, Great atmosphere, and great location. Based on taste, price and atmosphere, this is another best kept secret near Koblenz; in Bad Ems. I visited this restaurant last weekend on Saturday evening, after making a reservation for two on the Thursday before. I made a reservation by email and received no reply, however perhaps because we also called by telephone an hour later that same evening for a reservation. We arrived earlier than our reservation time and were nicely greeted at the door. Our reserved table was waiting for us, as promised. The waitress also asked if she could take my coat and she hung it up in a large open closet, which had lots of room and where I could see my coat. The Menu consists of a select limited number of dishes, but with enough variety that anyone can find something good to eat. The Menu is very easy to read and understand. Plus, salads, fish and vegetarian meals are also available. While prices are above average, they are fair and the portions are adequate. I had a Schweinefiletspitzen „ Allgäuer Art“ in Käserahmsauce mit hausgemachten Spätzle dazu Feldsalat for € 14,50. I love spätzle noodles. My partner had the Gebratene US-Steakhüfte mit Sauce Bernaise dazu Grilltomaten und Kartoffelwedges for € 21,50. I tasted both dishes and I can happily recommend both meals as delicious. While my meal came with a salad, my partner’s did not. So we ordered an extra salad for her and shared it. Feldsalat mit Kartoffelspeck – Dressing, knusprigem Speck und Croutons € 8,50. The salad was served first and then the entrees, as it should be. They were nice enough to give us two plates for the first salad, as we requested; so we could share it. Both food dishes came, hot as required and within a timely manner. We also asked for more bread during the meal and received some, so we could soak up the delicious sauces from our meat. Empty plates were collected, when appropriate and at that time we were nicely asked if everything was OK.The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant nicely decorated, in an English-Art Deco-Dark Wood ambient but is not over done. The restaurant is roomy and well organized concerning space. It would be a great place for a special occasion. One can either sit outside (now that we have good weather), inside in the front of the restaurant and look out through the window, or far inside in the back. There is also a bar with bar chairs where one can also sit. Outside the area is covered and is partitioned from the sidewalk. The tables are nicely decorated with a cloth runner (which hangs in front of the where on sits on both sides of the table a little too long), a candle, and cloth napkins. This restaurant has parking across the street or down the street, with spaces for about 10+ cars, so we didn’t have to go hunting for a parking space on the street. Plus, because we were there on Saturday night, we did not have to pay to park. Otherwise, we would have to pay to park.We were also friendly wished a pleasant day, as we left the restaurant. The Internet page is very well organized and informative with the Menu On-line, but it is only in German. Negatives are: 1) While parking is available on the street, one has to pay to park, if they want to pay again to have the privilege to eat at this restaurant. 2) Internet Page is only in GermanOverall this restaurant receives my best recommendation and we will both be back to enjoy another meal."
