"We had a wonderful meal at Steuerndieb. We were hosted by family living in the area. They chose the restaurant. The location in the forest is beautiful and unusual as is the long and engaging history of the restaurant. Our dining area was very attractive. The restrooms were modern and spotless. Our waiter was efficient but not particularly friendly. The food, however, was noteworthy. We started with a complimentary herring appetizer. I thought I hated herring but soon changed my mind after tasting this presentation with spices and egg. Several of us had a fresh salad of locally grown asparagus with shrimp. Excellent. Others had lobster bisque and commented that it too was very nice. I had lamb noisettes (whatever that means). It was like a lamb filet and the best lamb I have ever eaten. One guest had ravioli with mushrooms and said it was delicious. One other had lobster and liked it very much. Cheesy potatoes as a side were also very good. Add ice cream deserts with chocolate syrup and the evening was just right. The prices were reasonable (particularly for Europe). I have no hesitancy recommending this restaurant based on my positive experience."

Well-known and popular restaurant in Hanover on the edge of Hanover's green lung. Service is motivated and friendly, the atmosphere is very pleasant. Recommended!

We celebrated our wedding here. The menu was excellent as the service. The ambience is great. Thanks for celebrating such a beautiful celebration in this not so easy time! Greetings!

The restaurant location is quite poor and if you don't have a car you will need a taxi. Even if it is in the Mitte, it is well hidden. I ordered rabbit which was delicious, however, the portion was quite small so I regretted not taking the starter. Service was very good, waiters were there when you needed them but not otherwise.

We were served by the RUDEST waiter I ever met, and we would never return to this restaurant again and not our dinner companions, German relatives living in Hanover. The food was really pretty good when expensive, but that makes it all... all the more important that the waiting staff are professional. Apart from his off-hand posture from the moment we arrived for our reservation, this type actually pushed me from behind when I poured my wine and sprayed it into the glasses, splashed everywhere (including my hands and pocket). He also went away while we were still trying to give him our order. I was horrified and horrified.

We were served by the RUDEST waiter I have ever encountered and we would never go back to this restaurant and neither would our dinner companions, German relatives who live in Hannover. The food was actually quite good if expensive but that makes it all the more important that the waiting staff are professional. Apart from his off-hand attitude from the moment we arrived for our reservation, this guy actually shoved me from behind when pouring my wine and sloshed it into the glasses, splashing drips everywhere (including my hands and bag). He also walked away while we were still trying to give him our order. I was left mystified and appalled.

The ambience is really welcoming guests. We loved the temporary exposition of a local painter. Excellent service done by an expert waiter, prompt to adjust level of wine in our glasses. We had a menu which included a fresh garden salad with typical "Nordseekrabben" served on a interesting sweet mustard dressing. Maybe the champagne soup, served with whipped cream it's more apreciated by german tastes, but definetely I would avoid it, as the real taste of soup was totally covered by the sweet cream. And champagne taste completely disappeared. But we enjoyed the main course with beef medaillon filets cooked perfectly. All course served with a reasonable pause between one and the other, giving...

"In my opinion, the top of the Italian restaurants in Hanover. Location and contact: Roy's restaurant is a bit hidden in the eastern city between Hamburger Allee and Eilenriede. Kitchen is available on Tuesday to Saturday until ~22:00, so a later visit at 21:00 is still possible. Unfortunately, you cannot take dogs, which is understandable in local size. Food: Great! As it belongs to Italian raised cuisine, the ingredients are excellent. The card is clearly kept small, but wide enough that there is something for every taste. But that's only half the rent. What Roy's is for me about Tesoro, Castello, Leonardo (also all worth a visit: etc.) is the extraordinary attention to detail, both in presentation and taste. The flavor combinations are partly simple, partly refined, but always at least with everything I have tried there so far and a true joy for the palate. You taste and see the love of the individual dishes Ambience: Roy's restaurant is small and cozy, with a modern flair and personal decoration. The small restaurant impresses with warm Ambient Lighting and from lasy to excitedly graceful background music. Service: The service also fits the atmosphere. We were received with cordiality and humour, and were supplied with extraordinarily good care. Conclusion: A real gem of Italians and, in my opinion, also after many visits, one of the best places in the city, just like the best Italian in Hanover. 5/5*, top class."
