on a hot August weekday we were on a tour through the landscape south of berlin and looking for a place for a quick and early dinner. thanks to google maps, we have unexpectedly landed in this restaurant on the lake, which is located on a steam ship. View menu

the restaurant is located on the quiet island, far away from roads, but the natives seem to love the place. they have a beautiful terrace on the barcass at the pier, so an excellent view of the lake is guaranteed. eating is simply German, nothing special but. .

we were there for a family-eating, adult, two children. outside trembled the boat, but this is naturally normal on the water. we decided to divide the group so that only a few went into where they were on normal floor, and only a few remained outside. after minutes.

The restaurant is located on the quite island far from roads but seems that locals love the place. They have gorgeous terrace located on the barge on the pier, so excellent view of the lake is guaranteed.The food is simple german, nothing special but will be good if need to have a lunch before long walk over the island. The lookout is beautiful, it's really worth it to stay there for drinks, the food however was poor to average. The cooked potatoes still had hard pieces in them. The schnitzel was very fatty and was not tasting good and the fries tasted old. The salad on the side was nothing to come back for, this location deserves a better kitchen!

We have been there for family dinner, 4 adults, two kids. Outside boat was shaking but of course this is normal on water. We decided to divide the group so few went inside where it is on normal ground, few stayed outside. After 15 minutes few waitresses passes by but ignored us outside although terrace was rather crowded. Finally we went in to get drinks and food for the kids. We ordered schnitzl, some fisch, Pike and trout. All dishes seem to be fried, vegetables either deep frozen or from can. So if you like this type of food this ia the place to go....

We stayed at "House by the Water" Imkerweg 38, in 12527 Berlin Schmoeckwitz just across the water and could see the restaurant from there. Our host recommended the restaurant and so we booked a table.The restaurant was only fifteen minutes walk away and in a lovely situation adjacent to the water with an outside area built on an old barge.We ordered individual starters and a Fisherman's Feast to share that arrived on a huge platter. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.We wanted to sample local fresh water fish and we were not disappointed, the food was superb. View menu
