"We had dinner at the restaurant on a very busy Saturday night. There was a local festival on that weekend and most restaurants appeared to be fully booked - we tried 4 others before getting a table here. This in itself made us a little apprehensive but these fears were allayed when we tasted the food. I had a beef dish, my wife had fish (sole). Both were excellent, as were the accompanying side dishes. Deserts were simple, but quite good. Coffee was good without being anything special. The biggest negative was the service. Our drinks, deserts and coffees were all late arriving and we had to call thew waiter over several times to remind him that they had not yet arrived. As said above, it was a very busy night, but it seemed a lack of organisation was more the problem. The cost was on the high side (75 Euro including 2 glasses of wine, and water). Not sure how this compares with other restaurants in the harbor area, but seemed on the top end for this quality of restaurant.Service issues aside, we enjoyed our evening and have no reservations in recommending the restaurant."

Compared to the other pintxos bars that we went to over 2 separate trips to San Sebastian, this was just okay.

The steak and potatoes were very good. My wife loved her tuna correctly seared. She liked her Julian vegetables. Good amber draft beer. Service was good.

This pintxosbar is not as crowded as the most popular ones in San Sabastian but their choices of pintxoses seem to be as good as any other. We were very happy with our choices and we have no problem recommending this pintxosbar to others.

One of the specials was a delicious barbue a la plancha - it was brill, geddit? - together with a mushroom risotto and a glass of Iroulegy. A nice green salad gave it the right balance. The dessert of almond biscuit cake with ice cream rounded it off. Nice efficient service and a buzzy atmosphere made this one to revisit.

I used to go to the Txalupa in St-Jean-de-Luz when I was a student, and, coming back after so many years, I was amazed to see that the quality even increased over years. Great seafood platters, along with so well recommended wines and very innovative desserts. A very valuable place to have a family lunch in the new veranda. Very nice service and friendly personnel, who know how to assist their clients. Everybody enjoyed it, and I was happy to bring them there, as a remembrance from my younger years ...

Visited for dinne - there are 2 restaurants here owned by the same peopl - tghe 2nd is Le Suisse - but they have the same menu. One side of the place faces a harbour the other a small square in the town. Menu is fish & meat. We had the Grand Gambas with Pork Belly & Polenta and it was very good. Desert was a strawberry sable which was also very good. Service is professional and attentive. Main courses are around 25 euros deserts around 6/7 euros. Well worth a visit and paying a bit more as the location is better than some of the smaller restaurants in Saint Jean..

We needed to select a place for dinner on a very short notice and it was Saturday so our concierge was able to find a table only at this place. The Tripadvisor's rating was not so high so we were somewhat hesitant. But we had a great dinner. Our waitress was very nice, friendly and helpful. We followed her advice on starters from local cuisine with 4 or 5 selections for the table and everything tasted very good. Based on other reviews, we went with sole for the main course - and this was the right choice - well prepared and really fresh with nice sauce. The place was fully packed. I can see how the service can be "slow" when busy but all waiters seemed to be very nice and trying very hard. S...
