"As usual for lunch, did not expect anything would be different from the usual pub fayre. However, despite there being only one other occupied table in the lounge area we were provided wiith a reasonable menu choice and everything was explained to us. I had something simple being ham, eggs chips and peas and my colleague had the salmon fillet dish. These were both delivered with fresh ingredients, superbly cooked and presented, the cutlery was stylish and of decent quality. We will definitely visit again when attending business in Melton Mowbray."

Beautiful old village pub which is clearly well maintained. Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The menu was small but had good variety and a few good veggie options for us. The veggie burger was delicious and a really good portion size. Great value for money too. I would highly recommend here if you’re in the area. View menu

My friends stayed at the pub for one night and were charged £90 to sleep in a dirty room with no heating, hot water, a power outage, and a dirty toilet. The customer service from the bar staff was terrible when they reported the issues with the room, as they received no apology or compensation. I do not recommend staying at this pub.

Had a delightful, laid-back afternoon with delicious food and friendly locals at this restaurant. The prices were great and the landlord was really friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to chat with us and share some history about the building. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely be returning in the future. View menu

The staff were more than welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble and the food was excellent in every way. The presentation was on a par with a top quality restaurant. As for the lady behind the bar, she didn't stop running around for a moment yet had time to speak to us and enquire that all was to our liking. We will definitely be going back.

We had such a lovely visit here! Nipped in earlier in the day for a drink and the landlord (sorry I didn’t get your name! was so welcoming and friendly. We wanted to watch the football later in the evening and he reserved us a table right next to the TV. Came back that evening for food and it was divine! Felt so welcome as visitors from outside the area. Great value for money. Would definitely like to come back again!
