"We started our meal with a shared bruschettone, which was excellent. For the main course, I ordered the straccette; the sauce was fantastic, but unfortunately, the beef fillet in it wasn't as tender as I had hoped. My partner opted for the sea bass branzino alla mediterranea, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and the accompanying vegetables were both well-cooked and beautifully presented. For dessert, we had profiteroles and chocolate fudge cake, both of which were delightful, and we wrapped up our meal with coffee and tea. The service was superb—always attentive but never intrusive. "This charming traditional pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I visited with a group of 6 and found the service to be good from the friendly staff. The food was of high quality, however I found the pricing on the menus to be somewhat deceptive. While it is advertised as £20 for a two-course Sunday lunch, this price can only be achieved if you are willing to forgo certain elements of the meal. For example, there were additional charges for beef (£2), stuffing (£3), and even for the crispy fat on the roast pork (£3). Additionally, parties of over 4 people had a 10% surcharge added to their bill, which we had to request to have removed. This felt like a penalty for bringing in more customers. The portions were also lacking, with only 2 roast potatoes and 2 small dishes of greens shared between 6 people. A small dish of cauliflower cheese cost an extra £3.50. While the food itself was good, the £20 price tag for Sunday dinner should not come with so many hidden extras. I have never experienced this kind of pricing scheme anywhere else."

"Heard about the old chef from regency , london from friends working there , thought I would try it out , was amazed ! Even better than the London one , the Kenyan kuku chicken, massala mogo, chicken dry fry and you have to try the crispy mushrooms was awesome , taking my family there next time, also the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was like being in a central London restaurant . Check out the decor !"

"A great recommendation for those who prefer to dine earlier in the evening is Caffe Italia on Church Street. This charming Italian restaurant offers its evening menu on Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. In addition to their delicious daytime menu which includes pizzas, they also have a tempting set menu with 2 courses for £17 or 3 courses for £22. I highly recommend trying the Spaghetti all vongole and the Strozzapreti pasta with lamb ragu, as well as the Caramel Pannacotta for dessert. While they do offer a takeaway service, dining in allows you to enjoy the excellent service and the relaxed atmosphere. Don't forget to take advantage of their 2 for £10 cocktails during Happy Hour!"

"while we were at a very windy wet day at eye kettleby lakes, we found that the krone would pick up in our caravan on Sunday lunch. it was very easy to order online, we both had bark meat truthahn with an additional side of black in cover, absolutely delicious, very generous portions hot when it arrived, finished with jam roly poly custard cheesecake of the day that were again beautiful. we can highly recommend this pub."
