"This charming traditional pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I visited with a group of 6 and found the service to be good from the friendly staff. The food was of high quality, however I found the pricing on the menus to be somewhat deceptive. While it is advertised as £20 for a two-course Sunday lunch, this price can only be achieved if you are willing to forgo certain elements of the meal. For example, there were additional charges for beef (£2), stuffing (£3), and even for the crispy fat on the roast pork (£3). Additionally, parties of over 4 people had a 10% surcharge added to their bill, which we had to request to have removed. This felt like a penalty for bringing in more customers. The portions were also lacking, with only 2 roast potatoes and 2 small dishes of greens shared between 6 people. A small dish of cauliflower cheese cost an extra £3.50. While the food itself was good, the £20 price tag for Sunday dinner should not come with so many hidden extras. I have never experienced this kind of pricing scheme anywhere else."

Food not great, overcharged on bill, had to keep asking for things ie wine list, then the wine we had ordered, cutlery for main course. Nowhere to sit for a drink before the meal, the few seats they have had been reserved for people to watch Rugby. Shame as it us a lovely building, will not return. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

A few weeks ago, my husband and I had a great time at the restaurant for a "Date Night" where we also tried their kindertaxi for the first time. The food was delicious with plenty of diverse options to choose from. We opted for three courses and each dish was beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was excellent. We also enjoyed a delicious Italian red wine. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We regret not taking pictures of the dishes.
