"I went to this cafe around 3.30pm for a late lunch. There is free parking available outside since the cafe is part of a supermarket. The menu offers a choice of sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks, and hot food, all listed on a board. The options for hot food are limited and include items like sausages and mash, and fish and chips. Customers must take a tray, queue up, and order at the counter. I ordered a hot drink - Earl Grey tea - which was made for me by the lady. I also ordered a cottage pie with vegetables and was given a number for my food order. I found a table and was happy to see that there were free newspapers to read. The cafe has its own toilets, separate from those in the supermarket. Cutlery and condiments are self-serve and located away from the counter. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The total bill came to just over £9, which I found reasonable for what I ordered."

The toast was burnt and the baguette was served without butter, which I was expected to pay for. The service was very dismissive overall. While the prices may be inexpensive, there is no joy to be found in this restaurant.

Can't fault the staff here : always a huge smile and so helpful. Food is ok and good value for money . Only thing i would watch out for is had to send back jacket potatoes sent back on more than one occasion as were just too cold to enjoy . I would recommend the ham, eggs and chips . so much Gammon ham and such lovely eggs . NOMNOM View menu

Affordable and pleasant. You definitely get what you pay for. I have found the food to be inconsistent. The level of service varies depending on the server. Sometimes you get staff who seem uninterested and unwilling to serve you, while other times you get servers who smile at you while visibly showing their annoyance. Overall, the cafe is a decent option as a last resort.

Often pop in when going shopping. Love their toasted tea cakes, really tasty. Have tried other meals, ham,egg chips were good but the proper main meals not so good: not hot veg over done! So stick to tea stuff: toasted sarnies/paninis. Some of the staff are very pleasant. A couple (on Saturday) were pre-occupied with their own chat seemed not interested in their customers.

The latte at Sainsbury's is okay but the hot chocolate is poor and it shouldn't be because the Sainsbury's own chocolate drinking powder is fine the problem is how they are making it. The bakery make a delicious fresh raspberry éclair and a nice Portuguese tart. Sainsbury's at Ferndown do a very nice omelette it should be as good at Alder hills Sainsbury's but its not. It is not as big or tasty. My partner had a full English breakfast at this Sainsbury's it looked really gross.Today we waited forty five minutes for omelettes that is not good. View menu

I ordered a breakfast. Then a coffee. I got instant. I asked why. I was told the machine was broken. You tell the customer first then you serve them. The breakfast arrived. Burned toast and one of the sausages looked as if it had been sacrificed to some higher power. The bacon was so fatty I recommended it joined weight watchers.I love Sainsbury's but this isn't good enough. Your restaurant should reflect the quality of the produce you sell. Yours doesn't. I won't be eating at the restaurant again. I work hard for my money as do you dear reader. Don't waste it.

went to Sainsbury 's Cafe for some Lunch with a Friend, use this restaurant quite alot as I do my weekly shop in the store, I had a Bacon Suasage Baguette as I added Sausage, My friend requested a Big Breakfast however is not fond of Tomatoe so I asked for this to be removed, the response I was given can 't do that it comes the way it is I asked the lady why the tomotoe could not be removed we don 't have the facility to do that , now as a restaurant manager myself I understand the picking and swapping isn 't always necessary but I wasn 't asking for a swap I was asking to take it off the plate, because there was a button on the till this was not possible?, what if someone had an allergen re...

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
