"We decided to pop in for tea and cake, as we hadn't visited here since it had been refurbished. Sadly we have to agree others comments regarding customer service, and will not be returning any time soon. Upon arriving there were a few people in front of us waiting to be seated, which was fine. However, when we reached the front of the queue a member of staff completely ignored us, spoke to the group of 6 behind us who were booked for an afternoon tea and proceeded to seat them instead. When we were eventually seated we were shown to the nearest table possible, no offer to sit by the window, despite the restaurant only having about 20 customers, and there we sat and waited. After 10 minutes, ourselves and a lady from the table behind decided to see what cake was available. No labels on the 3 cakes displayed...Victoria Sponge was guessable, but the others not so easy. Then we returned to our tables and waited. A waitress appeared took another tables order and then disappeared. We counted 8 staff in the time we were there, so they weren't exactly short staffed After almost 15 minutes of waiting I asked a member of staff if they were going to take our, or the customers sitting behind us orders. A curt response was given that a waitress was there taking orders..the young lady had obviously arrived just as I was talking. I can not fault the young lady who served us, or the food and drink that we had, but the customer service is appalling. I dread to think what it is like when it is busy. If you are on a time limit with parking I wouldn't rely on quick food service here. One final note, when we went to pay they didn't even know what we had had to eat or drink...really not a good way for a business to run."

Dogs not allowed, well not unusual, but you can’t order to eat outside. Which was a shame as the menu looked very attractive.. All was not lost as the takeaway cafe is next door, though with different choices..

We have visited Sandringham many times and we arrived after midday and were looking forward to having lunch there. We had our dog with us and we were pleased to see they had a dog-friendly area in the restaurant. We were shown to a table and then told we could not order hot food, only drinks and cakes We ordered tea and while we were waiting for our tea (that wasn 't the best we have tasted) we noticed meals being served to the other parts of the restaurants. Our experience of our visit was very disappointing.

Overall, this restaurant experience was very disappointing. The hostess was too preoccupied to seat us promptly and they didn't have any high chairs available for our young grandson. The quality of the food was subpar, with tasteless cheese scones and bland pea and mint soup. The service was also lacking, with waitstaff ignoring basic health and safety practices. Children did not feel welcome in the restaurant, while a table with a dog received special treatment. The high prices for the poor quality of food make this place not worth returning to. Customer service was also an issue, with minimal efforts to address our concerns. View menu

In 2024, it will be hard to come across a restaurant with such poor service like the one we experienced. After being asked to wait for 15 minutes for a table, the staff informed us that there were no tables available, despite letting others in while we waited. When I pointed out this inconsistency, a table miraculously appeared (not surprising since the restaurant was only one-third full). The staff were extremely rude throughout our interaction and, once seated, told us we would have to wait another 20 minutes before someone would take our order. Waiting 40 minutes for a club sandwich in an almost empty restaurant, where we were treated with disdain and disgust, was not the experience we ex...

Second time we have been first time was slow on service but food was ok not brilliant but not the worst breakfast we have had, this morning however was not good we waited over 40 minutes for our food for it to come out. The Sandringham breakfast I had was horrible my wife’s was ok and my kids were passable. The young staff were more interested in socialising and helping them selfs to cake than taking table orders, everyone in the restaurant was moaning to each other about the more than poor service perhaps you should have someone managing the restaurant that gives attention to the lack of service. I used to look after all the refrigeration and kitchen equipment a few years back so now how go...

We have used Sandringham, as meeting point for our family, if we haven’t seen them in a while. We have came here a lot since we first ever came here, which was in 2021. On-site, there is a car park (very expensive), a woods to walk your dogs, a park, lots of green space, a cafe and a shop. There is also Sandringham Castle, just over the road to, and toilets at the cafe. Most of our family has dogs, so its good that there are walking trails within the woods, where you can walk or bike or scooter. The cafe is ok, we normally sit outside, as it’s better for us with dogs, but they do have an undercover area as well for when it rains which is good. The food itself, is very expensive, and the drin... View menu

My experience at this restaurant was not great. I have been here before for breakfast, but this time I wanted to have a light lunch. We had to wait for about five minutes to be seated and were informed of the items that were not available on the menu. Unfortunately, it seemed like this was a common occurrence as we were never able to order everything we wanted here. After finally deciding on our choices, we waited for someone to take our order, which ended up taking about twenty minutes. When I tried to get the attention of a waitress, who I assumed to be the manager, I was met with rudeness as she abruptly told me there were three tables ahead of us. After waiting for over thirty minutes, w...

We made bookings afternoon to have afternoon tea in the Sandringham restaurant followed by a visit to the Luminate Christmas lights. We were staying in the region, and as Sandringham is a beautiful location, it was an ideal way to celebrate our weddings anniversary. The afternoon tea was a disappointment which was such a shame. We have had afternoon tea at Highgrove on two previous occasions, both of which were wonderful experiences, so we were really looking forward to visiting Sandringham and expected tea to be as good as those enjoyed at Highgrove or better. Sadly, it fell short by a long way. The sandwiches were okay, the fillings not exciting, we were expecting smoked salmon, always a f...

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
