"The atmosphere is cozy inside during the chilly months, and the outside patio is perfect during the warm afternoons after a nice walk in the woods. When we ate here in November they had Ganz as a house specialty...we returned 2 additional times to enjoy it before leaving for the USA. Last night we joined friends there and I decided to try the chicken satay with spicy rice....yummy! The ente is also a favorite of mine served with traditional homemade side dishes. The service is always wonderful and Adrian took attentive care of us, serving our drinks and meals in a timely, efficient manner with a smile. Thank you to the crew in the kitchen..your efforts are also appreciated by those of us lucky enough to enjoy home cooked meals when we come back to our other home in Munich! See you soon, Kristin"

Typical bavarian food based on meat and fish with excellent desserts. Pork roast with speck and kraut salad plus topfen strudel. Good beer. The service was fine.

This wonderful restaurant is set in beautiful surroundings, very quiet but still full of atmosphere. The service and food was excellent with a great choice. Would not hesitate to return and would most definite recommend this establishment to anyone.

Went here for a late dinner on a Sunday. It wasn't crowded at all. There was a very friendly waiter who spoke a spot of English. She recommended the goose which was just breathtaking in its size. Had a large appetite and it all vanished! The interiors are tell tale - the beer garden has been there for several years. According to my waitress - from 1407 or something! I would go there again!

I have eaten here 3 times in the last month and was each time very impressed by the combination of relaxed country atmosphere (It is situated at the foot of a hill in the English Garden and surrounded by trees and forest) and good food. In fact, the saibling (grilled char) was as fresh and tasty as in any specialist fish restaurant, while the traditional duck with red cabbage was as succulent as one could desire.

we had roasted duck, red cabbage and potatoe dumplings. one can use between half or a quarter of a duck. delicious. the meat was soft, the dumplings perfect, the red cabbage ok. my brother had a dessert afterwards, Kaiserschmarrn, wonderful. but please share among two people. the young polish woman who served us, was fast, charming and delightful to look at. the atmosphere of the place is bavarian style, cosy, clean and charming. reservation recommended.

On a perfect-weather day, it was nice to make the short detour away from our bike ride along the Isar River to have lunch in this biergarten. Service was professional and punctual. The setting outside was pleasant and fairly tranquil. Local specialties, especially from the northern part of Bavaria, are available, so we availed ourselves of a couple pork plates, mine with the spätle, which were prepared quite well and were generously sized. The price (~16 euros each) was certainly fair.

We went to this beer garden with local Bavarian friends of ours. The location is great but this is the only thing that is great be aware some very rude staff who make you feel like foreigners are not welcome !! And when you ask for a better service they say this is the way it works in Germany and then a lot later bring you over cooked food and a huge bill !! Very disappointed as Munich is a lovely city but if you are looking for a friendly beer garden with nice staff and good food this is definitely not the place to go !!!

Had lunch on a weekday afternoon ... it was just about empty but it was mid-week in January when most restaurants and hotels are slow. Ambiance is plenty oldy-worldy with a modern touch; it's a place to see and be seen in Munich, the clientele is city's elite but it's not snobby. We had the steak tartare (good not great) and the Austernpilz salad (outstanding) and wurst with sauerkraut. Prices are fair and the service was prompt and courteous. Highly recommended, just be sure to get clear directions because the small street it's is easy to miss. Note: dogs are allowed in case you're traveling with your buddy.

"my man and I were in a few for a family birthday party. we had some time for us and took public transportation to visit schloss nymphenburg, which was a wonderful excursion also on a windy, wintery afternoon. not quite ready to return to the house...we googled Italian restaurants near me. the one we visited first did not take any plastic. the second location was solo italia. it was a Friday night and the place jumped around 19 o'clock. we didn't even think we were making a reservation, and everyone was taken table. no problem, we could order the cash. it followed several hours of relaxation, delicious eating, weeping and atmosphere. we ordered the green salads that are large, fresh, and most welcome after days very little green on our tellers. pasta bolognese and spaghetti carbonara were excellent. we did not try out the pizzas, although they looked fantastic (and they produced, kept all waiting workers and our bar-tenders very busy to mante the many.) solo italia is a place that prices were much less than the fancier sites round, but the quality of the food was comparable. it was simply a funny, bouncing place. a scream from our barkeeper maurice d. he was very busy with the drinks orders, the semi-trailer pizza and in the regular good work. he still managed to be polite and attentive that we were sitting on his bar. very professional and personal. if they are on the look for a great Italian place outside the Munich city center (but easily reached by tram 25) try solo italia, they have a great time!"
