"As I was walking to my hotel ETAP, and started looking for a place to eat it was PM. I walked by the top hotel in Saarbrucken part of the Relais and Chateaux network and bumped into a guy pushing a stroller, and...asked him for advice. He pointed me to the Schlachthof and told me it was owned and operated by the same people who owned the Relais and Chateaux hotel we had just walked by. So I gave it a try. It's in a nondescript part of town, apparently close to the slaughterhouse hence their focus on beef though pork, lamb is available. This is a meat lover's place. The restaurant looks quite new and shiny with a larger room in a type of glass walled space, and a smaller room next to the bar where I sat. Service was efficient and friendly, english limited, but we got by, with a little help from patrons sitting close by French. I'm not a big beef person, but went for their choicest cut it was nicely done, and good, coming with a modest selection of well cooked vegetables. I had ordered a beer to start euros! Sure beats Paris prices! and also a glass of good Bordeaux to go with the meal euros more like Paris.... I came out of the restaurant feeling good about the experience. I thought it needed another years of operation to give it a little more of a well worn in kind of feel it did feel like construction had just finished. Otherwise, I recommend it"

Though I liked the food good meat, I found the prices to be out of proportion. The whole experience just feels ok, not bad, but overpriced. And the menu lacks originality

Besser meiden!

This place not exactly in the center of SB, it's worth a visit. The place has a particular atmosphere. The food was really good and the meat was perfect. The prince is not so cheap but not so expensive. Easy to find a parking spot....Recommend reservation

A lovely welcome, good atmosphere, excellent service with a smile. Delicious starters warm smoked salmon and one lentil salad. The beans with the meat were delicious. The portions overall were more than adequate. The price reasonable. Main strengths: atmosphere and wonderful staff, good food View menu

Schlachthof Brasserie offers great food to average prices. For meat lovers, they have very nice cuts, cooked to perfection. They have an inside and an halfoutside patio, a good wine selection and very good waiters. It is right on the streett, in a food processing...district, so not a nice scenery but very easy access

This Brasserie is virtually opposite Schroders where we dined on our way to Italy. It was closed on that day and we therefore, because the menu was inviting, thoought we'd try it on the return journey. The food was good, as was the service though...there was a goodish time lapse between being seated, reading the menu and being able to order. Other than that it was a reasoanable dining experience

We have visited this restaurant on every visit to Saarbrücken and this will be the last. Firstly the service was very slow, even with only tables occupied. The prices are very high, if you order a steak, that's all you get on the plate,...everything else is extra. The steak was perfect. When we checked the bill, we found an extra drink of had been added, we did get the money back. Shame our good memories are gone View menu

We visited the Brasserie on a Saturday night. We started out with appetizers like Salade Niçoise and Calamaretti. Very good quality and a perfect start for a nice dinner. As a main course we ordered the Chateaubriand and Entrecôte. I must say that the meat...quality dry aged was really outstanding. Unfortunately the qulity of the sides potatoes and veggies where at the most average! Great wine list wth a main focus on German and French wine. Worth a visit

"I was already a guest at the Gusto at the Saarbrücker Toto House and very satisfied. For some time now there has been the “Gusto on the market” in the heart of the city, St. Johann’s market. Today we came to five. Originally designed only as an annex to the Gusto on the Saarufer, the small restaurant – as I learned from the owner – is now the main house and the restaurant on the Saarufer is closed. Ambiente The “Gusto” is located on the corner of Fröschengasse Saarstrasse only about 30m from the St. Johanner Markt. The modern stylish furnishings, a mix of American steakhouse and Spanish tapasbar, inspires a warm Mediterranean atmosphere. If you sit directly in the entrance area of the restaurant, you can observe the passing “old city visitors” and the driving in the alleys by space-high sprout windows. The restaurant is friendly and light-flooded, more comfortable and more cozy in the rear part of the “Gusto” you reach through a hose-like passage. 4 star service We were operated by a male service: friendly, attentive and competent. Of course, I asked all sorts of questions about the food, especially the steak, the “failure sign” of the small restaurant. We found that the head of the house also appeared several times at the table, vaccinated and proudly gave information about the origin and preparation of the dishes. Here you take time for the guest; this is what you like. The foods and beverages were very flotted, in between it was always asked if everything was right and if we had any wishes. I like to review the service with 5 stars. Food The steakhouse offers a rich range of tapas and antipasti, salads, salmon gambas exquisite meat rarities, especially proud of the “Dry Aged Beef”; this US Black Angus Steak has to “dry” in a special refrigerator for at least 4 weeks and thus gets its distinctive extraordinary taste. But also the other steaks from Black Angus are not to be despised and so much already look in advance for their equal in Saarbrücken and the surrounding area. My choice was a US Black Angus Steak (vacuum ripened) 300gr for 28,80 € with BBQ Dipp and Bratkartoffeln as well as a small salad at 3,40 € My four companions had tomato chili soup at 4,80 € US Black Angus Steak 300gr for 28,80 € with homemade herbal butter and roast potatoes Gusto Burger with Pommes at 12,80 € All ingredients were of 1a quality, well selected and absolutely fresh. The preparation of the dishes can be called a perfect craftsmanship. My well-hanged (wet aged) Steak was an approx. 5 6cm thick splendor of meat, a true pale man's maus, very finely massaged and wonderfully aromatic, masterfully prepared, sharply roasted on both sides on the lava grill perfectly and accurately spot medium, it was extremely lean, wonderfully juicy and very delicate in the bite. There's nothing to stand out. The homemade BBQ Dipp, not too fiery and not too lazy, the roasted potatoes, well selected small potatoes, cut into columns and roasted with the peel crispy pink. The side salad, mixed with zucchini slices fried in olive oil, olives, radishes, tomatoes, various leaf sores, crunchy fresh and with fresh herbs on top, was refined with a delicious parsley dressing. Conclusion: 100% recommended. Not exactly cheap, but worth every cent. For steak friends in Saarbrücken a must, but also a long way worth it"
