"I used to come here a lot when I was a teenager after shopping at Lewisham shopping centre and the high street. I haven't been here in years as I do not shop much at Lewisham like I used to. My parents dined here yesterday and mum said how her pies and mash was not hot and how there was not much meat in the pies. She said maybe it was due to the fact that the restaurant was near closing time? My take away order however I found the pies were filled with a lot of mince meat. The mash was nice and fluffy and the liquor tasted nice too! Also we found the meals for pies and mash quite pricey as it was priced at £10 per person! 0.0"

Used to enjoy the fish/chips, however, in later months quality seems to have gone down whilst prices unsurprisingly) have increased, now looking elsewhere for Friday treats.

There were too many beggars at the restaurant, which made me uncomfortable. A female staff member gave free food to a black male beggar and criticized me when I objected. This upset me, as I do not think beggars should be given free food in the restaurant, especially when they are regulars. This lowers the overall atmosphere of the establishment. Action needs to be taken to address this issue.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 20 years. Unfortunately, other seafood chains have closed down, but this one remains open. The fish is consistently fresh and the chips are deliciously light and golden. Sometimes the staff seem a bit unmotivated and quiet, but it is clear that they work hard. The tables are generally clean, and if not, the staff quickly clean them. I do wish the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price, but overall, I believe this is one of the best fish and chip shops in the area. View menu

If you like fish and chips you can’t go wrong here and I’m fussy because most chip shops are hit and miss but this place is fantastic chips are lovely always cooked nicely usually only get cod and chips but cod is perfectly cooked and batter lovely and crispy just like how it should be and this is all at at a decent not rip off price like other so called trying to be up market chip shops you will find with there fancy oils and horrible batter I’d definitely recommend this place if you fancy fish and chips, just how fish and chip should be nice chips and nice battered fish

The customers in the restaurant were more focused on arguing and being rude to each other rather than enjoying their meals or placing orders. As I waited for my fish and chips, I overheard a few racist comments about other customers. The restaurant appeared to be a rough place, but the high price of £9 for a small portion of fish and chips indicated otherwise. To be honest, the portion size was decent. However, the quality of the food was disappointing. The fish, supposedly cod, had no flavor except for a generic fishy taste that was overpowered by the taste of the condiments. I ended up leaving most of my meal uneaten.

"Me and my flatmates went to Naifs to celebrate one of our own's MA degree with a nice meal, and we are so glad that we did. Anne and the team were incredibly personable and friendly, which really stood out to us. As somebody who has worked many years in hospitality, one can tell that there is clearly a very tight-knit team at work here who does what they do out of and with love. We really enjoyed the concluding chat with the kitchen team about the amazingly delicious olive oil they served us with the bread it comes straight from the chef's uncle's olive plantation! The atmosphere was really lovely as well, and a lot of thought clearly went into it: there were lots of candles, soft light, beautiful serving plates. We found the decor very tasteful in general: the restaurant has a cozy, but elevated bistro feel to it which makes it the perfect place for a broad variety of occasions. We had the set menu, which at 27 GBP came at very good value. The menu really demonstrated just how colorful vegan and vegetarian spreads can be: the colors on the table alone were such a delight to behold! Needless to say it also all tasted amazing. We particularly liked the mushrooms in lemony broth, the dhal and the aubergine stew. Every dish had a creative spin on it that made it into something we had never tasted in that way before. The wine that was recommended to us was very nice as well. We finished our meal with a selection of British cheeses, which was very well put together. Naifs focuses on seasonal and regional ingedrients, which is another factor that really convinced us, and which is something that more restaurants should focus on. Whether you're a veggie or not: if you want to dine at an all around truly special place, you need to try Naifs. Keep up the awesome work, guys we will be back very, very soon."

"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"
