"excellent pub that I found near adlington station on my way to home after a long walk over winter hill by rivington then adlington. this was a Saturday midday just the end of the 2pm eating served I had scampi. chips, which at just over Β£4 was a good size portion, good quality pub eating an absolute bargain. I also had 2 drinks including an enterprise of award-winning dark mild I hardly spent Β£10 in total extremely good value. this is a good kneipe for craft beer lovers with around 8 10 craft beers that are available with information on a board. very friendly staff makes spinners arms also worth visiting if they like tradional art pubs. I'll go back when I get the chance."

a group of us called here late at a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. it is a lively pub with a good atmosphere and we found it a friendly place. there is not especially something from the ordinary about it, but it...has a good interieur and the staff is really friendly. the drinks are good and they have a wide range of them.

Food fine, tasty and piping hot. Service poor.Had to wait 20 mins for 2nd drink and asking twice. Finished food plates still on table 25 mins after we’d finished and left the table. Asked for dessert menu. It never arrived,so we left .10 mins waiting...for bill. Seemed very understaffed .Only two staff members ,taking orders, serving food and manning the bar. View menu

Called in on spec for a Sat breakfast. Very busy so they must be doing something right, however at Β£4 for a single Poached egg i did ask for 2 on 2 peices of unbuttered dry toast and Β£2.50 for a coffee, a...rip off considering they only charge Β£5 for a breafast with a drink. Did tell the landlady at the till but was told to ask for buttered toast next time ,which there will not be.

visited this pub for a pint after a local walk, as it has a call for fine ale. the ale has not disappointed with a fine choice of largely local brews. beer was well served and welcome friendly. while we were tempted by the menu, although relatiw was short and quite fundamentally agreed the three of us, the eating we had was hot and tasty. all dishes on the menu including our curry and sampi become less than a five that represents enormous value.

"updated review with a chat with glen, we went back to give the spinners a second attempt. I have to say it was good. the food was super, fiona’s stroganoff was excellent my lammage still excellent and tasty and the cheesecake is for to die. I have changed my previous 3 stars to a deserved 5 star rating we are regularly re- each in our group had a great meal and the servers were excellent and really helped to make the night good, I can only say that our previous experience was on a varying rare ****. please ignore my previous commentary, such as talking to friends who regularly go, this did not reflect their experience at all. previous reviews brlliant local family run pub and cozy atmosphere with good beer. my lamb was delicious, but my wife stroganoff with rice seemed very overpriced at Β£17 for a pot bark with rice. we both decided for the apfel and rhabarb crumb and custard, this was very bad, served in a small pot, the fruit was very good, but the crumb topping was uncooked, leaving a terrifying crumb after. Even the excellent but tiny part of the custards masked not the terrible crumb topping. this was our first visit for a meal and after we heard really good things about spinners we have a little disappointed and overall not the feeling that we have worth for our Β£51. the surly waitress did not add to the atmosphere."

"Have never eaten here, but only ever heard positive feed back. Cousins birthday, I do not live in the area so rang to order some bottles of bubbles for the table. Only writing this as experience was very upsetting and I am still shocked. I spoke with a lady, explained cousin having birthday dinner (I did get name wrong that table was ordered under) so wanted to make sure was correct table. She said I was loud and shouting. I have a loud voice (nodules on voice box). But its also naturally loud as well. I do not raise my voice, it is not my style also my voice loud enough. It doesnt need raising. We finally worked out correct table, I then thought she had gone to get payment machine. But she just hung up. So I called back, another waitress answered. I explained previous call and again asked if I could pay over phone for bottles of bubbles. I was asked to wait a moment whilst she fetched the machine. Whilst I waited I had to listen to what herself and the first waitress were saying about me. Won 't lie, it was very upsetting and I 'm quite a tough cookie. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional as well as hurtful. When she came back on phone I politely told her I heard all their conversation, she went quiet and apologised then asked if still wanted the bubbles. I politely replied 'I don 't think so '. Not sure what to take away from this experience. At least cover phone or put on hold if your going to talk badly about someone who wishes to spend money whom you have never met............"
