"parked here on holiday, went inside to pay the very friendly staff and were amazed at the quirky decor inside. Returned late afternoon and sat by the log fire on the unique items that are displayed everywhere. beautiful house atmosphere, staff excellent and gave us valuable local knowledge. Food was too big and very cheap. You also have live music every week, quiz nights and cocktails and a pool table. something for everyone here with a warm welcome, very recommend a visit to all"

Nice place, nice food at a good price. Saw some great live music especially the band K2 that were superb! Doing door personnel well with “bad” customers!

Live bands most nights with a dance floor. Check website for details. Didn't eat there just drinks. The staff were excellent. Great atmosphere all evening.

Came for food and drinks with family. Great food with plenty of options. Homemade coleslaw, burgers were tasty, toasted buns and great service. Good value for money and large plates. Play park ideal for little ones. Staff work really hard to deliver a grear customer service

What a great Pub this is I thought the food was absolutely excellent, and drinks are reasonably priced too. We had a great view for today's airshow from the balcony upstairs and the window inside upstairs too. And as a Motorcycle Enthusiast, I love the Classic Norton they have on the wall downstairs, she looks absolutely amazing

the wheel spinning is in every sense a great British pub. it is quirky, friendly, has good music, both live and recorded (especially when they were in the 70s) and amazing home cooked foods made with fresh local ingredients. it even has a 1940 norton on the wall! Today was our second visit, which was here earlier in the year, and did not definitiw our last.

we have never eaten in this pub and it was the Christmas lights in the pub garden that attracted us. I gave it 5/5 because if they were looking for a pub with a warm welcome, cozy feeling and home cooked hot food, then this is the place! the guy behind the bar even asked what we thought about the sausages as they were new and delivered by a local metzger. dog-friendly, family-friendly. we'll go again next time in paignton.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
