"Update....we received an apology from the management team and decided to give it another go. Have to say, this morning, the service and food were fantastic. The Throckmorton is definitely back on our list of great places for breakfast. Been here many times. Food usually good but, had breakfast this morning was very poor. Bacon reheated, toast burnt, had to ask for glass of water 4 times before it came. Complained, waitress said would let chef know. No feedback from kitchen. Asked waitress if she'd said anything she said she had. Poor service. No apology. We're regular customers but will not come here for breakfast again."

"As always brilliant, venue, superb staff and great food. We go there annually for a Christmas family gathering as we are scattered across the southern half of the UK. We always request then snug or side room as it accommodates about 12 of us and we can relax without being overheard. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this place."

"I feel ashamed to say I 've never visited this pub, which is pretty close to where i live. However it was my birthday and we decided to take advantage of the Mon Wed 50% scheme. We chose this pub over others because there were at least 4 vegetarian dishes on the menu. The owner was welcoming and very friendly throughout our entire visit. A down to earth guy who was more than helpful to talk through other dish options when it came to ordering food. Drinks a great selection of gins with the option to 'go for a double, at very reasonable price Food brie wedges to start with on a bed of salad and coleslaw...it was so welcoming to see a good amount of salad rather than a few leaves on the side of the plate. Mains ordered; sirloin steak, The Lark burger and goats cheese tart. The steak came with a range of vegetables along with onion rings. The burger and bacon were tasty and served again with chips and onion rings... the goats cheese tart was made with flaky pastry..my favourite. So in total we had 2 starters and 3 mains and 3 drinks £32)!!! It was definitely worth more than the £20 we paid on the food) government scheme, however due to the scheme we went there and we now will definitely go again."

"We recently visited The Bell for a work reunion and all seven of us had a fantastic time. The pub is spacious and was bustling with diners on the Friday night we visited, which is a testament to the great value pub food they offer. Our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. The breaded mushrooms we started with were delicious, as were the Nachos which came in a generous portion. The main courses were equally tasty, with options like fish and chips, lasagne, and fish pie all being well-received. The only slight downside was that the desserts were hit and miss, with one friend's trifle being likened to a dessert from the seventies, while another enjoyed the profiteroles. The drinks were reasonably priced, with a bottle of house wine costing under fifteen pounds. The service was attentive and friendly, and we didn't feel rushed out at the end of our meal. Overall, it was a great night and we would definitely consider returning if we have another reunion in Astwood Bank."
