"We stopped at this restaurant for lunch during a 30 mile bike ride. The menu was very creative and imaginative, with fresh ingredients. We both had chorizo and feta on sourdough with a delicious salad. The small cans of drinks were all priced at £2.50. The service was very friendly. It was a hot day, but unfortunately there wasn't enough shade over the outside seating to be able to sit in the garden area. The big sun canopies were a nice idea, but they only accommodated one table. I guess it hasn't been needed much this summer until now. We would definitely return."

"Great aubergine bhaji starter and chickpea Balti. Ordered some from takeaway menu which weren't on the main menu not sure why they are not on a larger main menu, as this would be better. Food is lovely, though the service was a little slow at the start. All of us enjoyed the meal."

"Ellie was our server for our visit on Saturday 21st October. We were there for a Sicilian Wine Tasting experience, which was a birthday gift for my husband and I. We were booked in at 4pm and it was quiet. We were seated quickly and Ellie placed the wines we would taste on the table and explained how the experience would play out, however, it did take a while (nearly 30 mins) for us to get started. Once we got started it was a really enjoyable afternoon and Ellie was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The charcuterie board that came out was absolutely huge and very tasty! An enjoyable experience!"

"Gorgeous location with splendid views. Our first and main courses were very good. I had a dessert treacle tart which was disappointing as the pastry was too thick and soggy. Staff also were not very attentive. I tried to alert their attention to order my dessert and in the end had to get up from my table to walk over to the bar where they were chatting to place my dessert order. Also I asked the bar staff what red wines were available and they were not able to give me any information about the wines, just showing me the wine bottles instead."

"This was our first visit since the ferry changed hands. The biggest change for us was the food. The food is different but still good! We went on a Saturday, so can't comment on the Sunday roast but we tried a fair sample of the plates. For starters, we had a soup and a pate. Both went down very well. The soup was a vegetable soup, thick and dull of veggie chunks. The pate was a generous wedge. For mains, we had a steak and kidney pie, fish and chips, half roast chicken, and a fish goujon sandwich. The pie was well filled and a suet pastry for a change. Fish and chips, a fair portion and light looking batter. The half roast chicken was a fairly large bird and the fish goujon sandwich was well filled and tasty. Dessert was a sticky toffee pudding- nice and light, and a fruit crumble with custard, slightly tart but a nice balance against the custard. Service was fast and the team were friendly. We will be back to try the Sunday roasts soon! Price per person: £40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We’ve been to this fantastic pub restaurant many times with friends and family and it never fails to please. Always very busy, but the staff are always polite, professional and efficient. You’re rarely waiting long for anything and, no matter how busy they are, there is usually a couple of table checks to see if you need drinks or anything else. We went here last night with a friend, and we’re going again tomorrow with family (at their request after we took them there for the first time a few weeks ago). Thai food is authentic and excellent (I’ve never had English food there but I’m sure it’s very good) and they always have a couple of real ales on draught too (I can recommend the Wainwrights ale). Highly recommended."

"The Crown Inn has recently relaunched as a Cafe, as well as a pub. The decor is lovely, they have managed to keep it as a ‘good old pub’ whilst creating a relaxing cafe space at the same time. We ate outside, which was no problem (we were seated inside and changed our minds and sat outside next to a children’s play area. Today I sampled the cooked breakfast, as did my son and my husband had the Crown full English (big! whilst they did some chips for my toddlers. The breakfast was honestly the best full English I’ve had in a long time. It was nice to have one that wasn’t cheap meat etc. The bacon was nice and thick, the sausages were lovely (I will be asking where they get them from! and the eggs were so tasty and fresh. Bread that came with it was yummy too. What I liked the most was that it wasn’t really greasy like a lot of fry ups can be. Now, besides the food being delicious, the service was great too. We felt very welcome (with twin toddlers we don’t always feel like we can relax and enjoy and on that basis alone we would return. The pub is spotless (including toilets and is clearly well looked after. The decor has lots of personal touches, which is perhaps how they managed to balance the pub and cafe look! My only issue is I want to try 5 different things on the menu! Great jobs guys, thank you!"

"Poor choice of starter. I had 3 small chicken wings and given a knife and fork to eat them. They were previously cooked and reheated. Main course I choose steak and it was just ok. Steak was not rested after cooking and when served my plate was swimming in blood. Chips were cold and there was no grilled tomato although it said it was included. Mushroom sauce which I paid extra for was very salty and didn’t really taste of anything. We ordered a side dish of onion rings and these were fantastic. Sticky toffee pudding was a microwave brought in pud and was served with icecream. Very expensive £100) for two. Staff were friendly and pleasant but sadly we would not return."

"New menu which is totally overpriced and underwhelming food quality. Waited over an hour from ordering our food to be served and restaurant was nearly empty. Over £22.00 for a rack of ribs which I sent back. Quality of the dish was very poor. Been here a few times and enjoyed the experience but now price has escalated but food quality gone down. "A little difficult to find but you have to walk the Bell Court and then you'll see it on the right. Beautiful restaurant, large bar and plenty of seating. The service was ok, a little slow during a Wednesday afternoon, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. The steak was delicious but the lamb was amazing, cooking perfectly. Highly recommend."

"Just had what can only be described as an utterly brilliant Sunday lunch for mother's day at the fish at wixford. Professional, friendly service throughout. Food was excellent, we had roast beef, and also fish and chips all meals were very well cooked, and quite possibly some of the nicest we've ever had at a pub. New owners have done a great job with tasteful interior design (much improved from previous years). We will definitely be returning soon. Just how a pub and restaurant should be run."
"a few meters from the house of william shakespeare we came to make a beer in this pub, attracted by the sign in the beautiful home graticcio that hosts it. atmosphere as they say in these cases, typically English, with in addition a bust of the great dramatist to control right in front of our table. a cheerful and rough atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent beer. We want to report a staff workshop. as we are, we arrived almost at the end of our dark beer fin when. We overturned him: desolate and forced to make a disaster. No problem, there's a warrant, so we have a liter in a few minutes. and it was worth it, it was so good and the perfect temperature. we were still sober and enjoyed the pleasant and exclusive atmosphere that only those who attend the English pubs know."

"This was my first experience at a Michelin Star restaurant, so I don't have any frame of comparison... but it was incredible! The service was fantastic, staff were friendly welcoming, and kindly talked us through the process and explained each meal in detail. The food itself was absolutely amazing. There was one course that wasn't to my preference, but that was just my own taste as everyone else loved it. The food was both incredibly tasty and beautiful, and although each dish is small I was so full by the end of the meal that I could barely move . The restaurant is small but very pretty, and it was very clean I was so confident in the cleanliness levels that I would have happily eaten off the table (not that I needed to obviously) and normally the idea of that would gross me out. It was a tad colder in the room than I would have liked, so if you are sensitive to the cold then make sure to bring a cardigan. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a memorable night out, and I cannot wait for a chance to go back again. "Another wonderful meal. Clean and tidy place with veery speedy service. On arrival it was quiet but soon had customers in. It’s a big restaurant so we sat at the back for a change. For starters we had lamb tikka and chicken tikka. It was cooked perfectly. I had considered having three starters instead of a main course! I had the lamb (I think called Jomson Bedo or similar and partner had mild chicken curry. For our mains We had three naan breads and pilau rice. Three Nepalese beers were ice cold and lovely. Very clean restaurant, cutlery and glasses. Our food was served quickly and was hot (I saw another review which suggested someone had cold food. We have never experienced that. The owner and his wife are so eager to please. The food is fresh. The lamb is cooked to perfection. We liked the sauce decoration on the starters plates."

"The Bell is not what it was. Poor service that seems to be because of a lack of staff. A single waitress covering the restaurant, kitchen, and bar is not enough and the result was slow, inattentive service. The food in the restaurant was cheaply priced but the quality was poor. The starter was inedible. The bar has a very limited wine list of a couple of low quality wines. I could not find one I would want to buy. Overall, The Bell is adequate as a pub for a pint of lager but not somewhere I would recommend for a nice meal."
