"I fancied going somewhere nice for my birthday, my friend recommended here as she had heard good things. We booked a table and headed up. It was a Sunday night at 6pm and we were the only ones in but a few more tables arrived as the night went on. The place had only been open for 3 months and is a little of the beaten track, but we'll worth finding. The place is modern with a rustic feel. Lots of birch trees cut in half and placed on the walls with lots of bold greens and pinks to, I loved it. When we arrived we were shown to our table. I had a necklace on that said happy birthday and the waitress asked if it was my birthday, I said yes.. She took our drinks order and when she came back with the drinks she gave me a birthday card and said the first round of drinks were on the house, as it was my birthday, which I thought was very thoughtful. The waiter and waitress were both very professional and polite but also very relaxed and friendly. I ordered the scallops for my starter, it was the most expensive starter at £10. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the presentation was lovely. Next I had the lamb, again it was perfect. I like my lamb pink and it was cooked exactly as I like it. For dessert I had there version of Eton mess which I was a little disappointed with but it was still good. I really enjoyed everything about the dining experience and will definitely be going back."

Was recommended by a friend and what a good recommendation it was! The food was superb and the service friendly and non intrusive. Would highly recommended it for a special evening out. We went for the tasting menu and wine arrangement. Superb!

It was a little bit fancier than i had expected but it was fantastic. Ok going for a 5 course tasting menu is never going to be non fancy. Cured salmon with fish egg was a great set of textures.The monk fish and scallops (pan fried and temura) was superb.The bit of ribeye was small but a really good bit of meat.We had the matching wine flight which were all great wines and matched very well.The staff were attentive but not over the top.Its not cheap but i would say great value.I would go back even with exactly the same menuReally good
