"We booked Tanca E Gaia last minute (and cancelled the other two we had provisionally booked for later dates) as Luigi, a guy from Orosei tourist agency, recommended it as his personal favourite. On the approach the location town Galtelli did not look that pretty but don’t be fooled by this. The actual place on top of the hill overlooks vineyards is small manageable. You can watch beautiful sunset as you sip aperitif anticipating arrival of traditional Sardinian dishes made of locally produced on the farm ingredients. Starters started coming one by one, by the time the main starters, eye taste buds pleasing ravioli with asparagus pier cheeks pasta pork in tomato arrives you are full of other pre starters. My favourites were garlicky aubergines, salami misti/ meat platter with fresh figs grapes, fresh pecorino bread traingles, actually I can’t name just a few they all were amazing! tomatoes on cheese sprinkled with olive oil, “pancakes” with ricotta honey, dough balls stuffed with pork mince/tomato/cheese, salad, beetroot prosciutto bread wraps... I must add that both white red wines were very tasty very enjoyable, definitely exceeded our expectations, including the mirto after dinner traditional Sardinian liquor (equivalent of limoncello which was also served, as well as grappa) The mains were delicious marinated piglet pork lamb served with toast potatoes. The portion of potatoes was quite tiny for 5 people from England, where it is such a staple, but we were so full by then that we had to ask staff to pack the rest of the mains to take away. For desserts we had sweet “ravioli” ravioli looking pastries stuffed with sweet lemony ricotta. Lots of dishes contained ricotta or pecorino. We also were offered coffee. Water wine were unlimited throughout the dinner. We had a lovely chat with the hosts family in the end the kind hosts also gifted us a bottle of wine from their farm vineyard. What a pleasant welcoming family thank you so much. They are modest about it but the son can communicate in English enough to explain/understand. It is not as far from Orosei as other agro tourismo places. Highly recommended!"
