"Three of us ate at the Thai House on a whim. The menu was extensive, as in most East Asian Restaurants, but items were repeated with the change of the meat dish. Thus with 8 choices of meat and one sauce, the item would appear 8 times. Still, the restaurant looked good as did the food one each table. Each of we three ordered a different dish and shared. The restaurant filled quickly and it became apparent that the kitchen and wait staff were becoming overwhelmed. The result was the haphazard serving of dishes. The second disappointment came with the flavors of the meals. All of us are Thai food lovers, but these dishes lacked the pizazz that we have come to expect. The food was OK, but nothing special. When we had finished our food it was impossible to get the waitress to give us the bill. My two guests left to stroll around the neighborhood, and no one noticed. I had to walk to the kitchen door to pay our bill. The person in charge made no excuses and more importantly, no apology!"

Nice evening meal in this cosy little Thai restaurant in the beautiful town of Lindau. Food was good and service was prompt.

This restaurant is spacious and popular. The food was average (+). Quite good satay but main dishes were bland although the ingredients seemed to be be good quality. Service was slow

The food was quite nice, I had a veggie red curry.. but the service ia soooo slow.. we waited about 20min just to order drinks and another 45min to ger food! Such a shame for the indifferent and slow service!

We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. The menu was given out quick, but we were totally ignored for both a drinks order and a food order. In the end we just walked out and went elsewhere. View menu

We had a great visit on a busy Saturday night in Lindau... having not planned well ahead, they found us a table and we quickly had a glass of wine in front of us. The chicken laab was fantastic and we had Duck and noodles...More

This is a large restaurant with a big menu but caters to tourists rather than offering authentic Thai food. Tried noodle, rice and prawn dishes. Everything tastes good but there was nothing special about them which makes the prices steep, but acceptable for vacation meals

Not sure about the lower ratings but as a group of U.K. Buyers that have all been to Thailand and have a love for the food, we loved this place. Authentic Thai food cooked very well with loads of fresh flavour. Couldn't fault it and we all decided it was a 4.5 rating. We'd definitely recommend and a nice break from Germanic cuisine we'd been eating. View menu

The decor of the restaurant is very beautiful and tasteful. It is not overloaded and the art pieces are really gorgeous. With that being said, the dishes look very pretty and tasty too, but they lack in flavor. The ingredients are fresh and the flavor combinations themselves are very good, however they are very easy going with the spices. The service is usually very slow, and also not very friendly. It does not keep what it seems to promise by it's appearance. It is located in the heart of Lindau, right behind the old town hall, and therefore absolutely over priced.

The owner of the establishment treated our party with such indifference it was almost laughable. He makes absolutely zero attempt at customer service. Our evening at the restaurant consisted of waiting and waiting and more waiting...firstly for our table, then the menus, then our drinks order to be taken, followed by an excrutiating 60 minute wait for food. There was no apology, no attempt at customer service, or interaction from the staff. They simply do not seem to care what you think (probably because the restaurant is already so busy). We were delirious with hunger and everything just seemed to be hard work. It appeared that they were ridiculously short staffed. I am sure there was just...

"Another entry into the list of Things that are Awesome about Austria, in a small town (a suburb of Bregenz, essentially that is part of the eastern Bodensee resort scene. We showed up without a reservation, and were seated in the pleasant garden, the tables far apart to ensure privacy in conversation and discreet movement by the staff, always a good sign in a better restaurant. We were offered a refreshing shot of watermelon juice at the start good, although more usual between dishes in a longer menu. We started with seafood: a superb combination of tuna, greens, and veal (unexpectedly good, and the preparation of the tuna put to shame many establishments supposedly specialising in seafood ; and an octopus based dish, which did not enthral Mr A, who objected to the combination with mussels. (Is this a central European thing? The closer you go to the Mediterranean, the simpler the serving of octopus: it has a delicate flavour, and does not require much done to it. If it had been served as in the other starter, it would be better, he said. For our mains we went for rib eye steaks with chimi churry (sic which we both found excellent: cooked to a perfect medium rare, with just the right amount of bite in the centre too often restaurants do a medium rare with the core of the meat nearly raw, which misses the point: a good medium rare locks the flavour in; if you slice it and too much seeps out, it's not done properly. Mr A declared the accompanying skin on potatoes were very good. I should have asked why the beef was imported from the US; Austria has amazing local beef (the Vorarlberg pastures are just round the corner! . We finished off with a delicate combination of chocolat,e pistachio, and cherries (for myself and an caloric explosion of ice cream and hot chocolate for Mr A. The Merlot recommended was just right for the meat, the espresso was decent, and the service was excellent. The prices are on the expensive side: our three course meal with only two glasses of wine and a soft drink cost as much as I'd expect the same meal with a whole bottle of good wine to cost. But, hey: you get what you pay for, and this was worth it. We'd go again, happily."
