"spicy mutton? kerala parotha? yes. Idli-vada-sambhar? yes. this restaurant ticks all boxes for a good Malayali menu. we often sit for buffet (5 pfund per person) for the spicy mutton curry they serve. be brilliant and they can pay 5 pounds just to have that with white rice. they also serve hot kerala parothas with the buffet style, but they really need to ask for it. as a malayali restaurant make them definitiw great fish. fish curry is quite spicy and very bad mess-ish (a bangalorean I naturally love it) I would have given it a much higher rating if the other dinge were on site and place apart from the delicious food. the buffet is usually cold and they still have to ask to warm it up. it is a very basic place without ruffles and fantasies. but the staff is very nice. actually pretty sweet!"

In London, we had an amazing dining experience. We enjoyed a delicious meal consisting of chicken biryani, fragrant rice, paratha, lamb, egg curry, sambar, rasam, three different vegetables, curd, and milk payasam for dessert. It was the perfect lunch to satisfy our hunger!

I've been twice now. The first time I found the buffet food to be amazing. The second time ... not so amazing. The food wasnt very fresh this time. And i feel the meat hadn't been cooked long enough to make it tender. And the paratas were slightly hard as if they had been re-heated

Was advised restaurant was run under new management. Good traditional tamil food choices and friendly service however the staff could be a bit more organised in terms of communicating with each other. They didn’t have couple of drinks listed on their menu but this was minor. Would recommend.

One of the best Sri-lankan foods I've had! Great for vegetarians too. The paneer fried rice is very tasty and recommended for any vegetarians. Went down for my dad's birthday and the atmosphere was great, and the service was perfect. Was very nice of them to give us extra complimentary food after seeing us enjoy ourselves so much. Would definetly visit again!

This review is only based on food i have ordered for a takeout . When i do go to Thayakam for a meal its the same order of Chicken Biryani and mutton rolls and sometimes some Vadas . The biryani is packed full of favour and the price is very reasonable for the quantity and the quality of food that they are providing . The mutton rolls are my personal favourite been eating them since i was a child and they have never lost the taste.

The restaurant features numerous paintings, and what draws me to this place is their non-vegetarian buffet. It includes rice, pulao, paratha, egg curry, lamb curry, chicken curry, sweetheart (a type of dessert), bare (which I assume is a local dish), rasam, yogurt, salad, pappadam, and payasam for dessert—all for just £5.99. While the portions may not be very large, the affordable price makes up for it. My only complaint is the strong smell of raw milk; it seems the milk isn’t cooked enough and isn’t fully integrated into the payasam. If they could address that issue, I would rate it as a 4-star restaurant.
