Excellent selection of dishes everyone will find something they would like. Polite service and generous portions. Food is tasty and cooked to perfection. Will definitely go again.

This restaurant is a great spot to visit, especially for locals looking for food and drinks. There is a variety of options to choose from and it's best to come in the early afternoon as it tends to get busy. I have enjoyed many delicious meals and drinks here during quieter times.

My second visit in a matter of weeks and I cannot praise this pub enough. The owners, Daisy and Christopher have transformed this pub into something really special. This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. My husband and I were staying at a lodge nearby and as I decided I was on a break so no cooking for me we went every day for a meal the food was amazing, great choice with specials a bonus staff so friendly cannot recommend it high enough thank you

Lovely old pub good atmosphere friendly staff we whent for the steak night i had the rump steak very tough and my wife had sirloin witch was ok thay changed my rump steak with a sirloin as the rump was so tough with no problem and apologized so apart from that very nice meal good portions and value for money

So have been here many times as it is a great substitute for going into town, lots of different menus to choose from plus some local drinks and other things to have. Great to be able to walk in and get something most days of the week that this is open. Would definitely come back at some point in the near future. View menu

We walked here over the downs from Saltdean, for lunch (booking in advance). It is a friendly place, with a good pub food menu. The staff were very helpful. I had Sussex Smokie (cheesy smoked fish pie) with chips and a small very fresh tasty salad; all excellent, with generous portion sizes. Dog friendly. I'd definitely go again! The walk was good too!

We booked for a mid week family meal and found it was the “steak special” evening. Incredible value and amazing quality. We all enjoyed the rump steaks with trimmings and added a delicious peppercorn sauce. Lots of other menu choices too including pizzas and specials. Charming, cheerful staff plus very dog friendly. A very inviting pub and highly recommended. We will definitely return!

What a fabulous Sunday lunch today! Very large portions excellent cooked! My husband had the Nut Roast and I had the Roast Chicken. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We asked for extra gravy and within a few minutes it was served! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table by the lovely Rosie. Service was excellent but unobtrusive. The whole atmosphere was just perfect! This is how the service industry should be. Excellent food, wonderful staff and lovely surroundings.
