"ambiente: 10 aesthetics: 10 service: 10 food quality: 10 food flavor: 10 drinks: 9 toilets: 6 outdoor area: 9 billing speed: 10 parking space: 8 an exceptionally nice pub in rural sussex between newhaven and lewes. everything you would expect for an Easter Sunday family meal was excellent. all that counts was 10/10. the toilets could have a good nasty on, but were generally clean. the outside area is generally very beautiful. they had even ostereier for the children at the entrance, who thought and a nice note. the whole experience I would give 9.5/10 and definitely back. highly recommended."

Lovely pub, got a really welcoming feel about it. Staff couldn't do enough for me my wife. The starter bar snacks were excellent. Will be going again.

If you are doing the South Downs Way and ending a stretch in Rodmell I can highly recommend this pub as a welcoming rest point for a pint.. Excellent Harvey's bitter. They also do food but I didn't eat so can't comment. Staff very helpful and friendly

My husband and I have been going to this lovely pub every week for the past couple of months and have thoroughly enjoyed everything we have ordered in these very pleasant surroundings and have been made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Highly recommended.

here with our dog for eating and drinks on the way back from the camping. the staff was very friendly and polite. I tried a prise guinness a dark star that both were good. to eat I had the rump steak with skinny fries with salat and pfeffer grain sauce and it was all excellent. the steak was maybe a little chewing, but had a fantastic taste and I enjoyed it very much.

Had a lovely meal this evening, the food was excellent, I had the fish and chips (have to say the fish was as good as I've had anywhere! And my wife had the pork belly(also delicious . The staff were lovely, really friendly, efficient and attentive without being over bearing . All in all a great experience of which we both highly recommend, we'll be back soon for sure... Give the Abergavenny a try you won't regret it

we went to the butgavenny poor on a stunning summer day of saltdean. the pub garden is really pretty. it was calm when it was a Friday. we had a plow and a falafel and beetroot salad. both were really nice. they had a problem with the harvey’s, which seemed cloudy, so I went for a peroni who was refreshing. the personal was very pleasant and attentive. big little pub I am so happy, survived and reopened after the finishes.
