"First time I have been here and wish I had come here ages ago. Jo the landlady cirtainly knows how to run a pub, I have drank in many pubs in the Poole area but I have to say how well the the beer is kept. Perfect temperature, clean beer lines, and basically the best pint in town, Trust me, they also have a good selection of wines and spirits. Now the inside of the pub is spacious and comfortable, it's very clean and tidy in fact spotless. Out side they have a seating area in the front, but have a lovely beer garden out the back. The pub is also Dog friendly. I have posted some pictures so please take time to view. At the end of the day I would highly recommend The Angel Poole. 100%."

The restaurant had great music and a selection of high-quality craft beers. The friendly bartender, Alexa, allowed me to sample before making a purchase.

The live music at this restaurant is fantastic, and the atmosphere is lively with a great crowd. Definitely worth a visit, and there are many bands performing.

Had a very welcomed which were lovely and refreshing. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly. We sat in some comfy armchairs near the courtyard area.

A definite must visit if in Old Town Poole, had a pizza to stave the hunger and if I'd have had enough space I'd have ordered a second. Team were all friendly and happy to serve View menu

I'm not a local but this seemed like a great pub. It's attractive from the outside as well as inside. There was a wide selection of branded beers and ciders at fair prices. There was also an artisan pizza menu, though I can't advise because I didn't eat. If I visit Poole again, this will be where I go for a pint.

I had noticed the sign on the main street several times, and finally decided to check it out. The pub had a relaxed atmosphere, was very comfortable and clean, and had a pleasant outdoor seating area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they had a great variety of beers to choose from. I will definitely return in the future.

Island bar, so three open plan areas with beer garden at rear; good choice of ales, lagers, cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks etc; friendly efficient staff; popular with locals and some passing holidaymakers, as a five minute walk from the Quay in a residential area of the 'old ' town, ie away from the retail areas. Reasonable access all areas. View menu

Lovely evening spent in The Angel, live entertainment was good, didn't have me running out the door! An evening when I was unable to have alcohol due to driving and therefore they were able to offer me a lovely cup of coffee on request. Staff and customers were very friendly. My friends said the smoking area out the back was adequately supplied with seating and tables. When the music started they had respect for the neighbours and politely asked customers to kindly smoke out the back and to keep the front door closed. Toilets were clean and tidy. Lovely little pub I'd be quite happy to revisited again.

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
