"Very enjoyable Saturday evening meal excellent menu based on a selection of British dishes, all superbly cooked, and attractively plated. The Barge is an unlicensed restaurant, so it is Bring your own Wine. Happily, there is a late night store just 4 doors away. We enjoyed the indulgent desserts, some of which are real reminders of the 1960's or earlier (including for example, jam roly poly). All the puddings were epically sized. The Barge is an excellent local restaurant , they try hard, and the hardworking couple making it happen are well worth supporting. We certainly will be returning."

What a fantastic little find. The waitress and the kitchen staff were fabulous and very accommodating. Very clean and made to feel very welcome and great with the children. And on top of it all great value for money.

We have been for an evening meal before and thought it was fab. So on the spur of the moment we popped in for lunch to give it a go. It is such a lovely place to visit. The service is very friendly, food home cooked and tasty, and so so reasonably priced. I would recommend a lunch/evening visit and wouldn't be disappointed. View menu

The Sunday roasts here are excellent. It is simple tasty good home cooked food.We had soup for starters, which was lovely and hot and tasty, followed by a turkey roast, which came with plenty of veg and gravy and was very nice. This is an unlicienced restaurant, but they do allow you to bring in your own wine. The restaurant is a small and quaint place that welcomes you with a smile.

Visited on Saturday July 30th for an impromptu lunch. The adults had a variety of baguettes, children had chicken nuggets and chips, for desserts we HAD to try the Sticky toffee pudding and strawberry mess children had brownie). Such tasty tasty food, and the most divine sticky toffee pudding. On a purely personal level, I would prefer not dressing on the salad absolutely nothing wrong with the dressing, but I don't like dressing on a salad. We also had 5 soft drinks and the bill was an extremely reasonable £46 for everything. Will definitely be returning.
