"No idea how this place has so many good reviews. When we arrived we were waiting for nearly 10 minutes with nobody at the front desk to check us in. Eventually I had to pop my head into the restaurant to get someone to check us in to our room. Not ideal when we had driven 4 hours to get there. We were also told the bar and restaurant had a fault and hot breakfast wouldn’t be served in the morning. Far from ideal to start with. The room itself was a tiny attic room, half the size of our bedroom at home. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the radiator had been left on full so it was absolutely sweltering when we went in. I had been looking forward to a shower but this was the worst showering experience in my life. The water came out of the shower with nothing more than a dribble. It took me 15 minutes to get showered properly due to this and at 11pm at night, was a huge annoyance, especially after the bad news and inconvenience with check in. There was also only half a toilet roll on the holder when we arrived, which made me disgusted to think that it was probably kept on there from someone else’s stay. On our second night there must have been an event on as we could hear music blaring out until the early hours, as well as people shouting and screaming. Only convenience was the proximity to the train station, but I would advise anyone to save their money and go to a travelodge or premier inn at least they have working showers and decent food drink amenities."

Fabulous food for our Christmas Dinner. Excellent, courteous staff who remained calm and friendly despite being busy and there not being many of them. The chef and kitchen staff served up a delicious meal, including a wonderfully refreshing champagne sorbet. We'll definitely be back

The bedroom was very basic and not very clean, very tired. No curtains at the windows and the blinds were in shatters so unable to sleep as the room was almost always light. The dun rises at 4.00. The bathroom sliding door did not close properly. The toilet seat was broken. There were two hangers in a cupboard to hang clothes, and the food was very bland . The outside when you approached was very overgrown and in dire need of attention

Good value with breakfast included. Location was fine for getting into town/Glasgow and beyond. The staff were very attentive but appeared somewhat fed up. Parking wasn't an issue at all. The decor was very tired and the room suffered from broken blinds with no curtains so the light woke us at 4.30am.The TV tuned into one channel only and there was no where to hang towels in bathroom. Needs real investment, but value wise with breakfast, I would say it's ok. View menu

Stayed here last weekend. It was a 2 night DBB gift. Rooms were awful. Far too small. Dated. Bed was a small double. Our view was Motherwell Train station which was noisy all night. The bar was ok. Pretty cheap. However getting served was a bit of an issue. The lady who served us was also receptionist, waitress and housekeeper. Lovely lady but too busy doing other chores. Not practical, but well done to her. Now onto the food. OMG amazing. The evening meal was lovely. I rarely eat cooked breakfasts as usually they are too greasy. This was perfect! Best fried eggs I've ever eaten. Sadly we checked out after 1 night, purely due to the room. They couldn't move us as fully booked. Had to phone t...

Spent 3 nights here. The first 2 I was kept awake by the shouting of a drunken madman in the room below. I think he was watching football, he was so loud he sounded like he was in the room with me. I informed the staff but I dont know what they did, the bloke was still shouting come on for another hour where it got to the point I yelled at him to shut up. I stayed in room 203 and it was coming from the room below. What was odd was that, although that room had a number, it had no key lock? So I 'm wondering if this was actually staffs quarters? The room itself, I stayed in a twin room, it was spacious with a big bathroom and was clean. Staff would come in and provide clean towels and reace to...
