"We didn't know the area but wanted something to eat. We googled Pubs near Atherstone and the Black Horse came up. When, we drove up I nearly drove on, as from the outside it didn't look too good. Boy am I glad we didn't. We were greeted in the car park by the Landlord and Landlady who were very friendly and informative, making us feel at home straight away. This place was amazing, a small restaurant laid up like a 5 star one would be. Then a cosy les formal Garden Room. The menu had a really good choice for a town centre pub. We both chose the Frank Parker's Sirloin steak, which we requested Blue. When the meals came they were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and excellent quality. As were the accompanying vegetables For dessert my husband had Eton Mess and I had the Chefs Special of Salted Caramel Cheesecake, both of which were to die for. We are looking forward to eating here again and feel that it is well worth the nearly 80 miles round trip."

Called in for a pint late on a Friday. It's a pub they sold beer. Did not eat there.

This was the first time we had been to the Black Horse. Very friendly staff with good selection on menu. We had the tapas for four people for £30. Excellent food quality we really enjoyed the meal and evening. We would certainly recommend it.

Sunday dinner meal was satisfactory, no real complaints. Waitresses had no idea of how to wait on customers, asking questions bluntly, coming and collecting plates when 1 person had finished food and the other 4 people were still eating! This carried on throughout the meal. And it was so quiet in there so it wasn’t as if they were running out of cutlery. Collecting side dish plates when meals were still being eaten! Waitress didn’t know what she was doing in regards to the bill, she charged us the wrong amount and as we were leaving, said we needed to pay more. Overall, food was okay, service was terrible, staff need training on how to wait on customers to give a better experience. I won’t b...
