"Walking back from a circular walk along the river at Grantchester, we were happy to see an advert taking us to a pub in the village. We didn’t find that one as the first one we came to looked sunny and pretty and just waiting for us to go and have a well earned drink after 8000 steps! The Blue Ball has such a welcoming couple that we stayed for two drinks and a pie! It’s worth remembering for main food as everybody who was exiting after Sunday lunch sounded very complementary about it! A sunny garden at the back looked inviting too. My partner was pleased with the beer that he hadn’t had before, and my soda and lime actually had a decent splash of lime in it for a change."

The views were beautiful. Will visit again. We ate at The Blue Ball. I had Moussaka, and my daughter had Chicken Balti. It was lovely, and the staff were very pleasant.

Fabulous little local pub, really cosy with a great friendly atmosphere. We had lunch and the food was delicious. Prices of food and drinks very reasonable. Cannot fault would thoroughly recommend. Will definitely come again.

I had a fabulous time at the blue ball this evening with wonderfully chatty bar staff! Helen and Emma couldn’t have made us feel more welcome! The food was sublime, the servers were so funny and charming especially the young blonde boy. We can’t wait to come back again very soon (maybe even tomorrow!

The Blue Ball Inn is so unpretentious, serving freshly cooked home made food which is simply delicious. The super friendly owners and staff are a delight and are very welcoming. We had a most enjoyable lunch....the apple crumble is to die for! Needless to say, we look forward to returning again soon.

Fabulous pub full of character. Warm welcome on arrival, swift service. Great lunch menu, the ploughman’s pork pie was superb, particularly the homemade picalilli made by the landlady! Lovely vista out front overlooking countryside, beautifully maintained courtyard garden. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed a meal at this gem of a pub. The style of the bar, the friendliness (and helpfulness) of the staff, the delicious food and excellent beer. The locals were chatting about cricket I’m not a fan but the comments were also entertaining. We don’t live locally but if we are ever in the area we will be in there like a shot!

Visited several times as we were staying in the village. A great traditional pub with local real ales. How a pub should be. We had lunch one day excellent pork pie and a ham baguette. Staff friendly and helpful. Even managed Ring the Bull on my 2nd ever attempt. Hubby took about 12 goes... If we are ever in the area again we will be back.

I didn't like this pub. It was full of drunk locals who were loud and seemed to think the pub was there for their sole benefit. OK It was coronation day, but they didn't look like royalists to me. The beer wasn't that great either. Sorry. I know a lot of people like this place, but when I commented my thoughts to someone the other night, they concurred.

We came to this free house for Sunday lunch. Pretty much faultless. A charming beer garden, with some covered seating. Real ales on tap (they change, but when we were there it was mostly Adnams, alongside a Norfolk guest). The short menu of dishes, with locally-sourced ingredients, was clearly home-cooked and made a such a change from the identikit menus most chain pubs are offering. We didn’t sit inside but it’s a cosy, traditional interior. Clearly popular with locals, families, cyclists and walkers. Will definitely be back, and will walk there next time.
