"booked for a meal before a week on Friday from our own Northants/Leicestershire for a few days break. Just what was necessary after a reasonable trip. at the arrival was the bar area where we had actually booked to eat. (because of our dog with us) absolutely dizzy. with people, so we were plucked into the restaurant area. the staff was very friendly and friendly, although it was very busy. difficult to mistake the meal. Maybe they just take the salmon-stare out of the refrigerator an hour or so earlier, but otherwise really delicious. haggis based starter was also really nice of all the accounts. both is really delicious and generous. my fish and chips were perhaps the best I had in an ionnngg time! ace. will certainly recommend the border' as an eßerei"

We hadn't booked a table in advance and were lucky to get one! This place is very popular and rightly so, the food was very good with efficient friendly service.

Staff friendly on arrival. Prompt service and delivery of fresh cooked meals to our table. Meals were absolutely lovely. Better of the two hotel restaurants in the area. I would recommend this restaurant. Also booking in advance is advisable!

Came to the Borders restaurant this week. Sadly we found the restaurant sadly lacking. Plenty of staff, just.poor management. Waited ages for drinks, food was mediocre, the chips looked more like over cooked, and often, Would not recommend, until the restaurant improves

Friendly, clean and comfortable with great food. Great location literally at the end of the Pennine way. Friendly owner a joy to deal with when booking. Quick to reply to emails. Beer good. Food excellent and very fairly priced. Room (I was in the basic)...was basic, but clean warm and quiet. What more do you really want after a long walk. Excellent cooked breakfast. Will return.

the hotel is located next to the green with lots of parking, spacious interieur with several areas to eat. a reasonable selection of beers is in the offer, but the menu is the star, with a good selection, as well as daily specialties. our food was good...shown, perfectly cooked and delicious. on busy Saturday night when we visited, service was something on the slow side, but very polite and helpful. the prices are very good.

This was my second visit to the restaurant and both times have been excellent. I am coeliac so have to eat gluten-free. I must admit that there wasn't a huge amount of choice for gluten-free (although I am aware there are possible supply issues at...the moment), but the restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about cross-contamination issues, so I felt very safe eating here. I had fish and chips both times, and both times it was excellent. Dogs are welcome (we took our dogs the first time) and service was excellent. By far the better of the two local establishments.
