"Called in for a couple of drinks Sunday afternoon in the beer garden, nice environment, friendly staff, good choice of drinks and good value. Normally this would be a very good review, but unfortunately on this occasion there were three outside tables with up to 8 seated at one table and another two tables with 4 on each. These customers were obviously locals (nothing against that)were allowed to totally ignored the pubs covid policy. No masks required when moving about the courtyard, swapping tables at will, two of the wandered about the place at will swapping tables, even sitting with an off duty barman at one point and were never challenged. We seen a number of potential customers approach as there were empty tables only to turn away, I can only presume because of what they seen. A shame really but staff should be challenging this behaviour until things change ."

We had a very enjoyable stay at this restaurant. The breakfast was fantastic, and we highly recommend trying the local sausages as they are delicious. Our host, Rob, was excellent.

I always enjoy my time at this restaurant, especially since Rob took charge. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are very comfortable. The unique charm of the place adds to its appeal.

We thought we would give the Bull a try as they had made an effort with the beer garden. We got a warm welcome and quick service of a decent pint of Pedigree and a glass of pinot gris. Excellent value for money. Cheers. View menu

Qurky stop off down in a court yard. Large seating area outside along with non smoking area outside too. Large pub area inside too. Did not serve food but did see sign happy if you bring your own. Hotel l believe too Prices not bad for a round along with good choice .dog friendly.

Enjoyed a wonderful St Georges Day afternoon in the courtyard of The Bull. Welcomed with a friendly reception, then enjoyed a speedy service and great beer. The guys coped very well, it was a busy day and they were run off their feet with the table service. Felt very covid safe. Really looking forward to visiting this place when it is fully open......

After reading the great reviews, we booked a room the day before our visit. The room was warm and inviting, equipped with tea and coffee, a hair dryer, and a TV. The staff were incredibly helpful from the moment we checked in. The breakfast, included in the room price, was cooked to order and of great quality. A big thank you to all the staff. We will definitely stay again if we revisit this wonderful town. View menu

Strong smell of urine upon entering the pub. Bathroom in serious need of refurbishment. Dated and tired, cracked taps , peeling paint and dirty. The shower wouldn’t get warm. The room was freezing, rang down to ask them to turn the heating on, 40 minutes later the radiators were still stone cold. Didn’t even stay the night , so disappointed as this was a weekend away for my Birthday. No offer of any refund from the hotel either .

Well that was a great night away. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Robert. Even though he was working on his own nothing was too much for him. Slight mistake showing us to the wrong room but soon sorted out a complimentary drink as an apology was a lovely gesture. Room was quirky but clean, bed super comfy, the uneven floor brought some entertainment but expected in a place of such an old age. Very lively at night but nothing too bad to disturb your sleep. Outside was cleared by 11.30pm music off around 12pm. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, Clare been the perfect host. From the choice to the quality there was nothing to complain about. We for sure will be...

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
