"Great atmosphere and food. Went there on an evening and found it to be a calming experience. I was in attendance with four others and we started with a mixed platter and seafood platter. These small portions, nicely presented, previewed what was to come from the salmon that melts in the mouth through to the vegetable pakora that was lightly fried and has a gentle flavour. For my main I ordered a Roghan Josh Lamb Shank. This is advertised as being marinated overnight and you could tell because every morsel was packed with flavour. Not only that, the shank was cooked perfectly and meat came away from the bone effortlessly. To accompany my main I had some tandoori roti, which tore well and could be used to retrieve portions of meat as well as scoop up portions of the sauce."

Went out for early dinner with friends and our little kids. Really friendly staff, great with kids, delicious food. The kids loved their chicken korma and I loved my Gurkha lamb. Highly recommend this place.

A Nepalese restaurant which offers traditional Indian currys along with Nepalese recipes. We were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere was very friendly. The food was delicious, definitely try something different from your normal Indian. Reasonably priced after 2 glasses of wine, a short walk from our hotel.

fab will find on our overnight in shrewsbury. in the city, we went to the restaurant that was already busy around 19 o'clock. great eating, courtesy staff and good price. Perhaps the front of the restaurants could have blinds or curtains? it looks very naked and the windows are big! but apart from that, it's a winner. Here they eat it!

Our favorite Nepalese restaurant after just visiting today. We began with the squid and a chicken dish with pounded rice followed by a lamb and a pork in garlic and chilli. Both mains we asked for vindaloo hot. We had an okra side and a naan with two rice. Food was simply amazing and we ate everything. Simply stunning food, beautifully presented complemented by excellent service.

the dishes are tasty and silent. they create traditional Indian taste with a genuine authenticity in the fusion of Nepalese and contemporary elements. the taste and the flavor were matched to our taste. the customer service is excellent and the chef manager is incredibly hospitable. could not recommend it anymore. our first visit, and hopefully it will come again when in shrewsbury.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
