"We were stating nearby and popped in for breakfast- we ordered 2 coffees, a full monty hot chocolate, 2 full English 1 mini breakfast. We got to the counter and realised they do not accept card payments so had to pop down the road to the cash point. The lady on the counter said it’s because they’re a charity and they cant justify the cost which seemed reasonable to me! The food and drinks arrived quickly and the portions were a good size. Everything was reasonably priced and the staff friendly- thats all you need really!"

Went here for coffee and were surprised at how good the coffee and cakes were. Very friendly staff and good service. Furniture was quite tied and needs replacing.

The team that run this place are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They sell you the most wonderful cakes sandwiches and treats served with real love and NO guilt.

Called in for lunch and had a very tasty burger with lots of fresh salad and the bowl of cheesy chips was a lot larger than we thought it would be. Fresh cooked food and at a very reasonable price in pleasant surroundings.

This cafe in Cheddar is the best! It exudes a lot of charm and coziness. The decor is unique and welcoming, with quirky furnishings that add to the overall charm. The food is delicious and hearty, and the artwork on display is great too.

Super service, incredible food. I have been here on other occassions in the day time but this was a special event that brought foods from different parts of the world and it was a taster menu. I was not expecting so much for the price and it definitely exceeded our expectations in quality and quantity. Compliments to the chef!

During a short visit to Cheddar, we asked the locals for a breakfast spot and were led to The Café. We were pleasantly surprised by the small breakfast we ordered - it was wonderfully cooked and presented. The toast was especially delicious, prompting me to inquire about the bread supplier. We were delighted to have discovered this hidden gem.

We were visiting for a few days and spotted the Cafe as we first walked into town. It was later in the afternoon and we fancied a coffee so popped in, after first having checked that they allowed dogs in. I ordered a cream tea and my partner had the homemade carrot cake. Which were both excellent. The staff made such a fuss of our little dog and gave her some treats, she loved it. This cafe is clearly a local community favourite, away from the commercial area of the Gorge. We will go back if we are in Cheddar again.

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
