"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."

Fun decor, welcoming and lovely food. Ordered a warm chiabatta and it came in good time with loads of salad a really creamy coleslaw and a few quality crisps. Sorry we didn't have time to stay for the lovely looking cakes we saw on the way in.

there was a midday. what a quirky place. so much to see. different menu for lunch. I had recommended Mediterranean vegetables and meatballs linguine. go back. the girl that served us was very friendly and informative about the charity nights and the garden.

Excellent service and their burgers were gorgeous. The sundae was great too. The beer selection was good, Butcombe for me and wine for my partner. The place is well themed as a 50s ish bar. Has to be seen to be believed. Good atmosphere. I will likely return despite it being a fair drive away.

Visited 17/9/22. What a hidden gem with an unusual decor throughout. What a great garden catering for all weathers ,with blankets and hot water bottles if needed . Had to say hello to tiki the grey African parrot, took a while but he did eventually say hello . The staff were so so helpful and the food was excellent can’t wait to come again

what a big hidden gem. my partner and I drove on the wheels when I suggested we visit here. no regret, we both had the pork bell that was cooked excellently. the decor gives them something new to see where they turn. as far as personal is concerned, it is managed by family and friends. this really shows with the friendly mood and passion shown between them. many thanks, and we are happy to visit again soon
