"We often head out into Somerset from our home in Axbridge, to visit Gardens open for charity, and try to find somewhere nice for lunch or beer in a pub garden, but, as Vegans and non drinking, often end up disappointed. We usually head for somewhere that sounds local and lovely but have to leave because the only Vegan choice on the menu isn't on on,or they don't have any of that fancy alcohol free nonsense. Thank heavens then for a genuine country pub, that still has that magical feel of still being a proper pub but serving lovely homestyle food. We felt very welcome and were amazed to see a menu with Vegan options given equal space on the menu, even on a Sunday! They have three main meals, a choice of three desserts on Sunday and Guinness and Becks blue zero on the bar. We had a Mediterranean veg tart, with roast potatoes, lots of lovely veg and gravy too! For Dessert we had warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream, just to make it a special occasion! The staff were wonderful, welcoming, genuinely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, Vegan or not!"

We are visitors to the area but wish we lived closer. Lovely pub, good food and really friendly landlord and staff. Highly recommend for good old fashioned home cooking.

We had our first takeaway meal from here this evening and it was excellent. Great home-cooked pies with chips peas and gravy in very generous portions, and all piping hot. A lockdown delight, highly recommended!

Nice old village pub. Sunday lunch.....feast for a king I had a really nice beef dinner with all the trimmings and my wife had the chicken. This was followed by apple and blackberry pie and banoffee pie. All really nice. Good home cooking Best if you book .definitely worth a visit View menu

Staying in the village for the weekend this was the only pub we could walk to. It did not disappoint. Friendly service both times we visited. The food we had (burger and pie) was superb and very good value. Lovely garden which is not very well publicised. Would go back if in the area just for the pie alone.

My third visit to this venue in the last couple of months, and again, I and my friends were not disappointed. The food is very good quality and excellence value for money. The staff are all very friendly, and we will definitely be back as we intend to make this a regular meeting place having tried several others in the vicinity. This is definitely the 'one ' for us. Thanks Ring O ' Bells.

Arranged to come here on Friday for my brothers 60th birthday treat. Not too local for us but being December and 24 of us it was difficult to find an available venue in Taunton. As it happens we had made an excellent choice. Not all of us had starters but they came out promptly. The main course soon followed and was delicious. Being a large group plus a pub with other dining guests, the service was fantastic. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting good quality home cooked food. Thank you so much Trish and your team. We will definitely come back : View menu

We went for a Sunday lunch and were very pleased a lovely experience. The Sunday carvery is plated with meat and some vegetables and then a huge amount of vegetables were brought to our table. We were a table of 5 and unfortunately we had to leave some of the vegetables as there were so many. We were naughty and had a pudding! We were all very pleased with the pud and I had a wonderful meringue. We were looked after so well friendly and efficient. We've told a number of friends about the Ring O'Bells and they've dined there. They have all been very pleased with their experience.

We were staying nearby and decided to eat at the Ring O'bells tonight. On arrival the barman was building up a lovely log fire, so cosy. It's a proper pub, with real ales and ciders very nice. It has a full menu along with a specials board. My daughter had the Cajun chicken she loved it, hubby had the Chicken in Stilton sauce, he said it was lovely. I had the beef stew and dumplings off the special board so tasty and the beef melt in your mouth. Both daughter and I had the treacle tart and custard. Yummy. And huge portion. Hubby had the lemon meringue ice cream cake and helped me finish mine? All in all a very enjoyable meal, at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. One small thing th...

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."

"Where to start. From what I can understand from reviews and speaking to the locals they don't visit here any more and I can see why. Lets start with the dangerous, they have a large trampoline on the grass area which has no safety netting or barrier and its not sunk into the ground. Also has some holes in it. This is a broken bone with kids (or even drunk adults) just waiting to happen. Trying to keep the kids off it is a nightmare. There is also a ropy swing (ropy in both senses of the word) hanging from a tree. I'd say safe(ish) but for less weighty occupants. Now the food. Edible but sub standard. Looking at the burger menu and when it arrived I did initially think it looked good . However just no flavour. Had a chicken burger when came in thick batter and zero seasoning so just tasted like a batter burger. Chips also nice and think but oily inside. I'm not a fan of a McD's but I would rather have had that than this. Now the Rude. Never in all my years have I come across such poor customer service. Swearing behind the bar and when trying to raise an issue I'm greeted with hostility, swearing and rude behaviour. I won't go in to the detail online as I tried to raise it with them directly the right way... however fell on deaf ears. I would say if your reading this in June 2023 or beyond then try the place out! as the current owners/managers will have gone out of business by then. Hopefully someone with even an ounce of customer service will be running it. Try to end on a positive... The drink was nice...!"
