"The food was good, chips were not greasy and scampi was as expected. The service was good, with a clean environment despite having a few dogs in-house, there was no dog/ animal smell you'd usually associate with a place that allowed dogs. The Carpenters Arms has largely improved since the new manager has taken over. Probably the best pub food that I have had in Sherborne the chef clearly takes pride in his work, not to mention the value for money! Was incredibly surprised when expecting mediocre pub food wish I had taken photos but it won't be long before we visit again. The improved decor throughout is much more welcoming and homely, with finishing touches such as blankets for the beer garden. We are looking forward to our next visit!
