"This restaurant does not serve authentic tapas. The food was of poor quality and the atmosphere was awful. I have sampled tapas all over Spain and this food was unrecognizable as tapas. The patatas bravas consisted of fried day-old potatoes with tomato sauce and garlic mayo, which did not meet the standard. The prawns were not fresh, the squid was chewy, and the stewed meat was unappetizing. It was a total waste of money. The host was unwelcoming, being more like a headmistress than a friendly host. The entire place was in desperate need of a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. The dated burgundy vinyl tablecloths had holes in them, which were also dirty and sticky. Our table was placed near the kitchen door, which they oddly referred to as a conservatory, where all we could hear was the staff chatting. This lack of atmosphere was very off-putting. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. It is a shame as we had high hopes, but were ultimately disappointed."

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food was incredibly tasty and we both loved our Sunday roasts! Overall, we would rate it 5 out of 5.

Angela and her team were fantastic, and the food was excellent. They were very accommodating, and the wine we chose complemented our tapas perfectly.

Totally recommend the delicious tapas dinner here all the dishes were lovely, fresh, unusual and very tasty! There are only five tables so make sure to book, it's well worth it.

What quirky little place in Watchet. The tapas menu is varied and excellent we would particularly recommend the pork belly, spicy cauliflower and the fried aubergine was fab. There is a car park right opposite which is really useful

With a tapas menu for starters and mains the choice was good along with a generous portion size, all the dishes were really tasty and the service good. Highly recommend the goats cheese with walnuts parfait start and the pork belly main and the beef stifado mains were special favourites. The restaurant has an eclectic atmosphere which added to the occasion. A real find on our short visit to the area over new year and excellent value too for the offering

First of all, the food, when it eventually arrived, was great !, especially the camembert starter. However, I thought the idea of tapas, is you order eat, order more, eat more and enjoy; not some raving lunatic from the kitchen, coming out and saying you haven 't ordered enough . She got her comeuppance with the table of 8, Quasimodo needs to understand that old people don 't eat a lot. Waiter (nice guy but overworked) was good. As a birthday treat, a bit of a bad experience, improved by the copious quantities of bubbles we drank, which was reasonably priced. Recommendstions: chef needs to go on a customer relations course, building needs decent wifi to make the water 's job easier.

Do not go here unless you want to be spoken to like a child. Told what and how much to order. This is not tapas. Tapas is ordering dishes you like and have them in front of you, not 2 tables down, so by the time you get to your dish it’s gone, because 1 dish is made into 2 and eaten… host isn’t a host, more a bossy mare who decides on your palate… waiter over worked, drinks missing and then told off for ordering more food as our food was put to the other end of the table. Prawns were cold and menu was very limited. For a £300 plus bill I thought it was shocking. Food brought out after an age without even serving spoons. My husband waited over half a hour for a peroni and had to be reordered....

Avoid at all costs. We phoned last minute for booking as we were visiting for the weekend. We got told there was one table left in the conservatory, which I thought sounded quite nice. On arrival, it was anything but. It was like an old person's shabby living room, with the walls covered in mould. But, we persevered, and then had to listen to the owner shout at staff and customers all evening. Our phone came, and it was hardly edible, blood coming out of the chicken, cold prawns and generally little taste. I know people will say that we should of approached her about this, but saw little point as she'd already shouted at other customers. We left as soon as we could. Then, the icing on the ca...

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
