"This is a nice wee chip shop as far as chip shops go, in fact it's my fast food eatery of choice in the area. Parking is either outside where I reckon you could fit three cars maximum or round the corner in the Co-op car park. The Co-op operates a fining system for non-customers although I've yet to see their car park anywhere near approaching full so I think it would be ok for the ten minutes it takes to get your meal. The staff are friendly and the premises are clean. The food is well cooked (obviously they change their fat often as the chips are never soggy) and at a reasonable price. The food is the standard type you find in a chip shop, nothing fancy but good food all the same. They still sell sweets out of the jar which I find charming. You can take out or eat in at one of the few tables there are."

Come to lunch. super friendly and one of the best chippys I was too! I find some have chips that are too fat and leave an offset magazine, but this place is brilliant!

I live across the road from Chip Barn and can recommend this shop for excellent fish suppers and parking can be found at the coop . There is no longer a parking attendant. From Echoes neighbour.

the chipbarne is the most authentic Italian chip shop since cut brot. they can pick up a lunchtime special, which die from the finest pork for the best price of 1.90 deals for. they also make authentic Italian pizzas. that twice now a pizza was eaten from there and began to speak Italian. the place from which dreams are made.

This is a fish and chip shop located on barn street. It is relatively small however there are a few tables and chairs so you have the option of sitting in or taking away. They sell the usual sausage, fish, chicken etc. They also sell a selection of sweets and drinks. The prices are reasonable. Located on the main road you are lucky to get a parking space outside but there are other car parking places located not too far from the shop.

"Absolutely disgusted at the way my Husband has just been treated in this establishment. Came for our anniversary meal at recommendation of work collegues being new to the area following moving up from England. We asked for a table for 2, which we were given a booth straight away. After this we waited over 15 mins for a menu, i was on the verge of walking at this point to be honest, looked at numerous times by the staff but no menu. A girl came over with the menu which she brought over, we ordered 2 drinks. When the bar woman brought the drinks over she informed my husband it was a non sports pub not allowing team colours and he was not allowed to wear the top he was wearing, which was a long sleeve Rangers training jumper. I had to watch my husband shamed in to taking his jumper off in a pub AFTER ordering our drinks. He was stood at the bar when i asked for a table should it not of been mentioned then when noticed? There is no mention of this on the website and certainly not on entering the pub, no signs what so ever. I paid for the drinks and left. I will never return to this place no matter who tells me great reviews. I suggest your staff put a notice on the website and the foyer window if this is how you feel. An English gentleman from Manchester, surrounded by 4 great teams (city, utd, Liverpool and Everton) made to take of an insignificant Scottish team top is disgusting. For those reading this review, we had a lovely meal and drinks else where spending £100 quid. There loss is another restaurants gain!"

"We visited the other day for the first time and we were impressed with the warm, cosy atmosphere, despite the restaurant being empty, aside from us. The staff were all wearing face masks and socially distancing, which was a thumbs up, plus it was clean inside too. The garlic bread was also delicious.Unfortunately that's where the positives end.The staff were attentive, but the restaurant seemed to be far more focused on deliveries and phone orders than on those of us within the premises. They have a VERY limited menu and, to add insult to injury, we found that one of the items we wanted was no longer being offered and should have been removed from the menu (arancini), due to lack of interest from people and limited availability of ingredients. The food also seemed to take ages to arrive and there wasn't much outlook. The pizza was well made and different to most other places, but I wasn't much of a fan, as it didn't have much cheese and included the tomato skins within the sauce. Overall I've had better, but I've definitely had worse too.I think the place was oversold to me and I had high expectations that weren't really met.Would I recommend it? Yes, it's worth a visit, as it's in a nice location and an unusual, old building.Would I go back? I wouldn't hurry back, but I'm glad I've at least tried the place.N.B. The photos included are of the empty restaurant when we first arrived and the food we had."

"I have used this take away regularly for 30+ years and for not the first time I received sub standard food via delivery this week. Although I have never made a complaint I felt the food was especially poor on this occasion. When I called to convey my dissatisfaction I was not only completely dismissed but in not so many words called a liar. It took a second call from my son for our concerns to be taken seriously and an agreement to replace one of the dishes was reached. However by the time my son was off the phone I had served the chicken to the dogs not realising the arrangement to return the dish (not sure why as Id hope they wouldn't have served it back out to another customer) On delivery of the replacement dish I was charged for this due to the missing meal. Pretty poor show Id say for a regular customer. All in all it was not so much the fact we received sub standard food, I understand this can happen on occasions, it was the disgusting attitude and manner in which our complaint was dealt by the establishment. Safe to say I will never be using this particular take away again, I would much rather give my money and custom to those who value their customers. In addition, and as a side but still a very important point. My dogs, who were served up the first dish which we were not happy with, well they were both extremely ill that evening and next day. Safe to say I am VERY glad we did not eat the dish even though we were told very bluntly and on no uncertain terms there was nothing wrong with the food! I will, of course, be sending a report to the local Food Standards team."
