"Absolutely disgusted at the way my Husband has just been treated in this establishment. Came for our anniversary meal at recommendation of work collegues being new to the area following moving up from England. We asked for a table for 2, which we were given a booth straight away. After this we waited over 15 mins for a menu, i was on the verge of walking at this point to be honest, looked at numerous times by the staff but no menu. A girl came over with the menu which she brought over, we ordered 2 drinks. When the bar woman brought the drinks over she informed my husband it was a non sports pub not allowing team colours and he was not allowed to wear the top he was wearing, which was a long sleeve Rangers training jumper. I had to watch my husband shamed in to taking his jumper off in a pub AFTER ordering our drinks. He was stood at the bar when i asked for a table should it not of been mentioned then when noticed? There is no mention of this on the website and certainly not on entering the pub, no signs what so ever. I paid for the drinks and left. I will never return to this place no matter who tells me great reviews. I suggest your staff put a notice on the website and the foyer window if this is how you feel. An English gentleman from Manchester, surrounded by 4 great teams (city, utd, Liverpool and Everton) made to take of an insignificant Scottish team top is disgusting. For those reading this review, we had a lovely meal and drinks else where spending £100 quid. There loss is another restaurants gain!"

Great food. Very attentive service. Highly recommend. If you book please go. If you can't make it please cancel. The current situation relies on income so don't leave a table unoccupied. #eatoouthelpout Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"Having had a lovely day out, we finished our day here. We had been before which was just after lockdown and had a fantastic meal with great staff, so we thought it would be the same again, how wrong were we? Having arrived at 4-15pm we ordered the pre-theatre, starter was ok at best this is when I started to notice that some of the staff were watching us at all times, every time I looked up the older man was watching from an open doorway. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, my friend had her back to him so never seen this. One of the staff came to take our starter plate away while I was still eating. We then asked for a 10 min break between courses, this didn’t seem to go down too well. The main courses came and we cannot fault them they were both lovely. Again I was getting watched with every mouthful of food I had, this was starting to put me off my food, my friend then ordered another small wine. Once we finished eating we were letting our food settle while my friend finished her wine. A member of staff then came and slapped the bill on the table, we hadn’t asked for the bill at this time, but we never questioned it. By this time the restaurant was getting busier but by no means was it full, there were still a few empty tables. At 6-15 the man who had spent most of his time staring at me then came up to us and asked us to leave as they needed the table, both of us were extremely embarrassed by this. As we were leaving someone who was sitting near the entrance, who we think was the owner said “ goodbye I hope you enjoyed your meal” my friend who was extremely angry by this time then told him what had just happened, he apologised and said that they must have been needing the table, this I couldn’t understand as there were still plenty of empty tables, but even if this was the case if they had mentioned to us when we arrived that they needed the table back for a certain time we wouldn’t have taken as much time. They could have also asked us to finish our drinks elsewhere if they needed the table so urgently.Overall the food was good, but the staff were extremely rude and this spoiled my meal. After our first visit we told all our friends about this place we will now be telling them not to bother. After spending £50 on 2 pre-theatre meals that were totally spoiled by rude staff we left and neither us or any of our friends will return."

"I have used this take away regularly for 30+ years and for not the first time I received sub standard food via delivery this week. Although I have never made a complaint I felt the food was especially poor on this occasion. When I called to convey my dissatisfaction I was not only completely dismissed but in not so many words called a liar. It took a second call from my son for our concerns to be taken seriously and an agreement to replace one of the dishes was reached. However by the time my son was off the phone I had served the chicken to the dogs not realising the arrangement to return the dish (not sure why as Id hope they wouldn't have served it back out to another customer) On delivery of the replacement dish I was charged for this due to the missing meal. Pretty poor show Id say for a regular customer. All in all it was not so much the fact we received sub standard food, I understand this can happen on occasions, it was the disgusting attitude and manner in which our complaint was dealt by the establishment. Safe to say I will never be using this particular take away again, I would much rather give my money and custom to those who value their customers. In addition, and as a side but still a very important point. My dogs, who were served up the first dish which we were not happy with, well they were both extremely ill that evening and next day. Safe to say I am VERY glad we did not eat the dish even though we were told very bluntly and on no uncertain terms there was nothing wrong with the food! I will, of course, be sending a report to the local Food Standards team."
