"Lovely friendly country pub with cosy and chilled atmosphere. Went here on the eat out to help out scheme and it was fantastic. Brilliant menu with ample choice despite the pandemic. We had two starters, two mains and one dessert. Pate and pork belly, tasty and fresh good portion sizes. I then had rack of lamb and was a bit dubious about the honey and mint sauce combination but it was delicious, lamb cooked perfectly pink how I like, and portion size again very generous, all mains served with 4 types of potato and fresh veg. My mum had the cod and said it was amazing and cooked perfectly with lovely flavours, looked like a very meaty cod fillet! She then had the Panna cotta for dessert and said this was light and tasty. Lovely service also throughout, definitely will return. Thoroughly enjoyable night!"

it is nice to see a pub doing well in the middle of this village. The food is good rather than great. quite a big choice though.

We popped in today for a very last minute Sunday dinner. Lovely hearty beef dinner was just what we needed. The pub was busy and had a good atmosphere. Lovely food and all very happy

Great welcome and great food at this lovely old traditional country pub. The chicken pie and the fish and chips were particularly good. Big thank you to Georgie and your very friendly team from all 25 of us. We'll be back! Cosby Friday Walking Group

So pleased to be able to come back to the **** after lockdown. Delicious food, good bottle of wine and all at very sensible prices. Soup asparagus for starters, followed by beef stroganoff and tournedos Rossini … all beautifully cooked. We’ve been coming for years and will continue to do so!

This is a fantastic pub located in the serene countryside of Leicestershire. It's definitely worth a visit! The pub features a lovely garden where you can relax in the sun, and it combines traditional pub vibes with a modern twist. The staff are delightful—friendly and welcoming. I plan to visit regularly!

Excellent pub, fantastic friendly and helpfull staff. This pub gets better the more you go, when you strike up a rapport with the locals and the staff it really is fantastic with banter flowing and good beer being drunk! I love sitting outside on the benches or in the garden in the summer and standing inside to the left of the bar leaning on the rest. When it's cold in the winter they put the fire on and it's lovelly. Dogs are welcome which is great too, as are children! Also a very large car park! View menu

What a great find this was and one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve tasted in a long time! We chose from a set menu with a good choice for the 3 courses. The tempura prawns were delicious and so were the garlic mushrooms. The Topside beef was so tasty and tender and plenty of it too. The accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection , the roast potatoes possibly the best ever and there was yummy Yorkshire pudding. We chose the treacle and almond tart and the Bailey’s cheesecake for dessert, both delicious and especially the tart! It must be the best value for money Sunday lunch in the area and the service was first rate. It was well patronised and no wonder, looking forward to returning s...

I was a little disappointed during my visit. We checked the menu online before making a reservation, but the hand-written menu we received didn’t match what was listed on the website. The food we ordered was decent; in fact, the sea bream was quite lovely. However, the steak was a different story—it was a cheap cut and quite tough. The best option available from the revised menu was sirloin, but I personally prefer fillet. Additionally, the wine selection was drastically limited compared to what was advertised, although the Argentinian Malbec was delightful. It seems this restaurant has significantly reduced its offerings since before the pandemic. It’s such a charming pub with great beers,...
