I am so excited! My favorite local restaurant has just reopened after being closed for a period of time. It used to be a high-end gastro pub.

"We had not been to the Wellington for a while. What you wont get is an expensive gastro meal, but what you do get is a a very good home made and competitively priced Sunday Roast, can recommend the Roast Beef, Pork and Vegetarian option. "Have been to packhorse previously, and have always enjoyed Sunday lunch there. However I can only guess it has changed hands/ management and chef. The dinning experience was positively average at best- food varies from over cooked meat to undercooked vegetables. Such a shame to have seen such a nice restaurant let it’s standards slip so far. Certainly will not be going back and could not possibly recommend it to anybody Conor"

"-5. I'm prompted to write my first ever review on TripAdvisor after visiting this dreadful pub tonight. My family were treated in a hostile manner by the woman serving as we had our 8 year old daughter and whippet with us. She decided immediately not to serve us because my daughter was under age, with the excuse that she thought they were fully booked. We told her we were willing to eat outside on their picnic tables in their car park, if there was a problem, then she promptly dissappeared. She came back to tell us that all tables were fully booked including the picnic tables...LOL! There were two couples at two tables in their pub/restaurant, or whatever they want to call themselves. A very disappointing end to a pleasant weeks stay in Suffolk Cambridge, where we've met nothing, but lovely people. This pub deserves to be out of business with this attitude... I'd give them a -5 if possible."

"Great food. Great beer.. Being a local (two villages away so I guess that counts) I find that I am coming here as a treat. Always delivers! The beer, atmosphere and service is spot-on . You must book because they are so busy but I always am prepared to wait. It’s worth it!!! Big thank you to the owner. The beer is so good I don’t mind waiting.for the takeaway that I should have ordered online. (Must get my act together) Food: 5"

"We chose the afternoon tea option, but it arrived without milk or sugar. It took two different servers before any milk and sugar was provided. When the sandwiches arrived, the server offered to make changes if we didn't like any of them. I requested a change, but my sandwich ended up being the same as everyone else's. There were some issues with the bread being dry and the fillings being scant. However, the sausage roll was delicious. The cakes arrived after the sandwiches, and they looked very nice. Unfortunately, the scones were terrible as they were over-kneaded, heavy, and very overcooked. This was the most disappointing part of the experience. The setting of the restaurant was lovely, and it's possible that we just had an unlucky visit. However, based on this experience, I don't think I would be in a rush to return."
