"my man and I had booked a table for 5.00 o'clock when we went to the theatre and the restaurant was too walking. this was our first visit and we were very impressed by the facility in the dining room and asked about the history behind the restaurant's facility. the maitre d was very knowledgeable and passionate and was proud to explain how the dishes were cooked etc. and explains the story regarding the beautiful picture hanging on the wall. fantastic start to the evening. eating was amazing."

There's some pretty decent food to be had at The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society, but their sit down menu food prices are WAY too high given the quality of View menu

This was a birthday lunch and it met all our expectations. The surroundings are grand without being stuffy. The staff were helpful in particular the waitress who attended us, and professional and the food was exquisite. The birthday 'girl ' was even presented with a special plate with Happy Birthday in chocolate on it a very nice touch.

fantastic find in edinburgh after a good day in the city we decided to reward us with a beautiful restaurant. we ended up in the dining room and were surprised. the place was very accommodating and we saw to our joy that it offered a menu with whiskey pairing perfectly for Scottland. the food was excellent, the service a pleasure. definitiw a good place to finish a day in edinburgh.
