"This charming restaurant is located in a picturesque village. There seemed to be too many staff members on hand. We placed our order within 10 minutes, and our starters arrived in less than 5 minutes. We each had a drink and two courses within 40 minutes. The bar started to fill up and became very noisy, so we decided to pay and leave. The waiter kept hovering around our table, watching us eat. As soon as we finished, he quickly cleared our plates. This was quite off-putting. The table next to us had a dog that was unleashed and going around to other tables with dogs, which I didn't agree with. Our starters, baked camembert, were delicious. However, our mains were either a very expensive steak for £32.50 with an additional £2.75 charge for sauce, or the chicken ballentine from the specials board for £19.50, which had more stuffing than chicken and soggy parsnips and roast carrots. We won't be returning as there are plenty of other lovely pubs in the area."

Absolutely delicious food and warm service. I had the venison shepherd's pie, I'm told the gnocchi and fish were also excellent.

Well prepared locally sourced food, extensive menu with dishes clearly prepared in-house, all served in a warm and informal atmosphere, by professional, friendly staff who made us feel relaxed and welcome.

Spent the night here on a trip round the south of London, the rooms are excellent and the staff are very professional and friendly. Surroundings are beautiful and the whole place is fabulous. Let down a touch by a rather small and yet surprisingly pricey English Breakfast!

I stayed at The Drummond for 2 nights in their beautifully decorated and newly refurbished rooms. I had a fantastic experience and enjoyed a delicious vegetarian wellington at the restaurant. I will definitely be booking directly for my next visit to take advantage of the discount they offer. View menu

I love this characterful pub. the friendly couple that made it for yrs have constantly produced a charming, friendly meeting point along with great food. I am sad to hear that it has been taken over by peach pubs, so here will be another gastro-sub if any of their other pubs have everything to do. kitchen closed to nov I really hope peach pubs keep the pub as is and only change the accommodation above, otherwise this will be another pub to cross my list!

I visited this restaurant for my husband's birthday. We had to switch tables at the beginning because the unlit fireplace was letting in a draft on a cold evening. The Beef Wellington, which we were advised of in multiple emails, was not available. When we asked why, the waiter simply said, "It's off mate." The wine was served in a warm glass, likely straight out of the dishwasher, and the water carafe was as well. A dog was allowed to sit with a party at the next table in the restaurant. The staff used inappropriate terms of address, such as calling us mate and darling. This restaurant is not cheap, but the service was no better than a Wetherspoons. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the foo...
