"I decided to stop here for 2 nights camping, en route home after a 1 week wild camping 'exped '. The small campsite at the rear of the pub was clean, quiet and nicely kept. The toilet n shower block was clean and well maintained. But it 's the pub that 's the hidden gem here. The pub manager (Ross is a funny, well spoken likeable chap, and himself and all the staff made my stay over one to remember! Big 'shout out ' to Alex, Crystal and Indie (enjoy Bristol Uni you Lege ! ...but all the staff were polite, funny, chatty and v accomodating...nothing was too much bother. The food from both Bar restaurant menus was amazing, and the beer n food prices were very reasonable. Camp pitch prices were low compared to other local sites. I loved my stay here, and I am already plotting my return in the not-too-distant future! Tip-top camping. Tip-top pub restaurant. Tip-top staff. 7 stars out of 5 from me!"

As for the rooms, they were a bit dated, but that was within our expectations. The bed was cozy and comfortable, and it was warm—everything I needed for a good night's sleep! The room size was also nice, with ample storage and very clean. The food and drinks were great for all ages. The scrambled eggs were particularly fantastic—thank you! Overall, I would rate the rooms a solid 5.

Unfortunately we had an issue with mould in our room but staff sorted out without a fuss. Location fantastic but weather lousy so didn't get to walk much of the moor. Food was superb and very reasonable and staff very helpful Walkability: Just up the lane you get to the moors and a very large field about half way up which was great for walking our dog first and last thing Food drinks: Very reasonable. Lovely food and lots to choose from

I spent three nights over the weekend and had an excellent experience. The food and service were outstanding, and everyone was incredibly friendly. Our family room was beautiful and quite spacious. On one night, we could hear some laughter coming from the pub below, but our white noise machine easily muffled it, and it didn't last long. My daughter also enjoyed spotting the cows in the field next to the parking lot! Overall, I would rate the rooms a perfect 5. View menu

I stayed at the Fox and Hounds for two nights recently. The hotel rooms are quite dated and the TV is minute, however this is more than made up for by the lovely staff and really good service with a smile. The price for bed and breakfast is also very pocket friendly. The food generally was acceptable, but the breakfasts were very good indeed. One of the most endearing aspects to this hotel is that it is so dog friendly. Dogs were positively welcomed, with dog treats in the passage outside the bedrooms. As a dog person I loved that!

This place appeared on our search as a camping option, offering electric hook-up points scattered throughout. However, it's essentially just a field. It’s okay if you're simply looking for a place to sleep, but not ideal for those wanting to have an enjoyable camping experience. There are two toilets and one shower for each gender, but the shower only has a curtain and no lock, which was a bit uncomfortable. We paid £25 for the night with hook-up, which felt quite pricey compared to other campsites we've visited that had better facilities.
